BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.
We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.
It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.
If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

7 reasons not to buy
- Some buyers found that their Elliston arrived with wheels sorely out-of-true. In rare instances, some of the Azure’s parts, including fenders, arrived bent.
- Hubs were overtightened, for some Elliston buyers.
- The City Bike’s warranty is only valid when the bike is assembled by a professional bicycle mechanic.
- Some buyers found the old-school saddle was hard and unforgiving.
- The City Bike’s faux-leather grip-covers could slip off after a few days' use.
- A number of riders found the instructions for the Azure’s basket and rack insufficient.
- Some buyers were disappointed with their City Bike’s 'lackluster' packaging, which resulted in scratches, dents, and loose small parts.
Bottom line
Urban riders chose the simple and elegant City Bike as a runaround for short-distance commutes, errands, pub rides, and park jaunts. The step-over versions are known as 'The Elliston' and 'The Black & Tan'. 'The Azure' and 'Bubble-Gum' cover step-through models. Both frame shapes are available as a single-speed or with a three-speed internal Shimano Nexus hub. Deluxe options include front and rear racks and a bell. As a call-back to vintage town bikes, the City Bike is somewhat weighty but also sturdy. State Bicycle Co. declares that the bike should be assembled by an experienced mechanic, to validate their warranty and to ensure a safe ride. This is reflected in buyer reviews, which state that wheels need truing and components require adjustment, assembly and lubrication. A simple, cost-effective and elegant town bike.Expert Reviews
