Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL

Specialized’s Light e-MTB steams past the competition on the climbs and shines with its smooth, intuitive handling and excellent traction. Unfortunately, on the descents it lacks agility and the suspension doesn’t offer sufficient reserves.

The Turbo Kenevo is a motorized armored fist. Calmness and steadfastness radiate from it, even when bombing straight down the most broken passages. On most common trails, however, it is also accompanied by a feeling of a kind of futility.

Striking a balance between a traditional enduro bike and a full-power e-MTB, the Kenevo SL hits a smaller niche, but hot damn does it hit it well! If you still don’t see the point of having less power and a smaller battery, then this bike isn’t for you.

It rides like a modern enduro bike… riding this E-bike Light was a real treat and offered nearly downhill bike performance mixed with e-MTB stability. In terms of pedal-assistance, the Kenevo isn’t a powerhouse by any means.

It’s a great enduro bike if you’re going to be riding really tight switchbacks or really tight trails.

That’s a whole lot of money, but I have convinced myself that it is in fact good value… You are literally getting two bikes in one here. The performance, when the bike is powered up and helping you boost around, is jaw-dropping, and a pure laugh the whole time.

It’s the production hyper-car of the mountain bike world…pushing the industry boundaries… you’ll be able to tackle those devastating climbs, and more, just faster… huge advantages of low weight and descending capabilities… for those that have the cash and particular needs, the Kenevo SL ticks all the right boxes.

The ideal machine to make a smooth transition between downhill or muscle park mountain biking and an electric-assist model. It is impossible to recommend this bike to competitors who would like to embark on the Enduro Series in the VTTAE category. It is not designed for that.

The faster the speed gets, the more comfortable the Kenevo SL feels. The weight distribution and balance are excellent and make the Kenevo SL an absolute fun bike with almost a downhiller attitude!

Light and very fast, it will be the joy of riders who will have the skills to exploit it.

If you are looking for an e-MTB that gives you a feeling of omnipotence and control of the trail, with the Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL you hit the mark.

A superenduro with the innovative and high-performance Turbo Super Light power unit and an incredible weight: no less than 5 kilograms less than the Kenevo.

It can be said that this is a bike for experienced riders who originally rode MTBs, and who want to easily climb uphills and push downhills aggressively.

The bike takes playfulness combined with safety on the descents to a new level. We both hope and believe that electric mountain bikes will develop in this direction.

I love the SL concept! The level of assistance is 2x, which gives you that feeling in your legs that an analog bike gives and that in a 4X you tend to lose… Another very important factor is the weight, 18 kilos! and you have to be honest that it comes ready for the spanking!

The Kenevo SL is the ‘fitness’ sister to the Kenevo, a downhill borderline enduro e-bike that has received a massive drop in weight to make it one of the lightest and most capable e-enduros on the market.

This time, Salla, Mika and Bob check out the freshly baked Specialized Kenevo SL, which they have been able to ride even before the release. The special thing is that Finn Tero Jakku has been involved in designing the Kenevo SL.

If we do not look at the price tag and we only take the handling into account, then this is a bike for everyone who has no objection to electric support but does not want to give up the natural handling of a classic mountain bike.

The handling of the light Specialized Kenevo SL is more natural and light-footed than the Power-E-Enduros. The chassis and geometry are uncompromisingly tuned for smooth running. Mini downhiller!

A powerful e-enduro… If a large battery capacity is less important than pure performance and the joy of riding, you will find a worthy e-mountain bike in the Specialized Kenevo SL!

As soon as a tour with a lot more pedaling is announced and I only had the choice between the Enduro S-Works and the Kenevo SL S-Works, I would of course go for the Kenevo SL.

The dust could work its way into every crack in the SL-1.1 engine. The motor housing is perfectly sealed. The SRAM GX Eagle chain is “at its end”. On the other hand, the SRAM X01 Eagle cassette and chainring are good for a few more thousand kilometers.

It’s not the kind of e-bike that does everything for you… for the pleasure of riding and opening the throttle downhill, making the most of the physical and mental energies saved on uphill transfers, there’s Kenevo SL.

The idea of downsizing and the consequent “muscularisation” of the riding style of a certain type of pedal-assisted mountain bike is a winning one.

There is no doubt that it is the most evolved bike among the current Specialized e-bikes.

The Turbo Kenevo SL can be said to be an e-MTB for expert riders that tests the rider’s ideas and common sense.

The Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL is a bike for those who are always chasing the steepest descents.

One thing is for sure, the lower weight is felt, definitely. If you’re looking for a bike that’s drastically different from a classic e-MTB and feels as natural as possible on a non-powered trail bike, you’ll be happier with the Levo SL than the Kenevo SL.

The Kenevo SL bridges the gap between heavy electrics and analogs in a beautiful way. In a group of normal e-bikes, the Kenevo SL is always the last to reach the top and runs out of battery the fastest. However, it is hard to find a better bike for torturing enduro routes.

Of most importance are the new possibilities and kilometers of trails, paths and routes, which will be much easier to reach than on a regular enduro.

If you’ve come this far, you empathize with my viewpoint, you’re a hardcore enduro rider, most e-bikes don’t convince you, and you want to ride longer but without losing the essence and “heroin” that only a light bike can give you, then your bike is the Turbo Kenevo SL.
