BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

17 reasons to buy

  • Testers are blown away by the Kenevo SL’s agility on descents.
  • Reviewers compliment the bike’s “exceptionally balanced, descent-orientated” geometry and “low and centered” weight.
  • Reviewers say they can maintain speed through rough descents, thanks to the performance and adjustability of the Kenevo SL’s ‘6-bar’ suspension system.
  • Owners can alter their Kenevo’s geometry, via the SL’s headset cup and flip-chip.
  • One tester says power transfer is efficient and climbs on the Kenevo require
    “close to no effort”.
  • At 42 lb for the Expert, the Kenevo SL is lightweight for an e-MTB.
  • All Kenevo SL frames are crafted from high-end FACT 11m carbon fiber.
  • An expert describes the damping properties of Fox’s Float 38 suspension fork as “supple”, yet supportive.
  • After extended use of the Kenevo SL, testers report impressive durability.
  • Specialized say riders can attain 4.5 hours of ride time from a full battery charge.
  • It takes only 2.5 h to fully charge the Kenevo SL.
  • Specialized's Mastermind TCU offers expansive customization options. The Mission Control app gives owners access to detailed information and power settings.
  • Updated firmware smoothes out pedal-assist activation and tapering off.
  • Each model is available in four sizes.
  • A removable rear fender is included (or 2, on the S-Works), as well as a robust chain protector.
  • Reviewers admire the bike’s “sleek lines”. Each SL is available in 1x color and
    1x monochrome option.
  • Butcher Grid Trail tires received praise from testers, in both dry and wet conditions.

5 reasons not to buy

  • A tester reported frequent pedal strikes while climbing.
  • An Expert tester says Roval Traverse wheels literally bend under heavy use.
  • Even at the Comp level, the Kenevo is pricey.
  • Testers complained of seatpost insertion limitations, on all Kenevo SL models.
  • Reviewers are sometimes unimpressed by SRAM Code RS brakes. One reported rear brake fade on long descents.

Bottom line

The Kenevo SL range offers lightweight, lower-powered alternatives to Specialized’s heavyweight Kenevo models. At 10 lb lighter, the SL is more agile, maneuverable and huckworthy. Reviewers describe it as an evolution of Specialized’s unpowered ‘Enduro’ range. 35 Nm of torque ‘boosts’ riders uphill. Testers say its handling is closer to that of a regular bike. Since the previous model, software upgrades result in smoother motor assistance. Adjustments can be made to alter bottom bracket height by +/- 10 mm, head angle from 62.5° to 64.7° and chainstay length by 5 mm. The Kenevo SL’s ‘6-bar’ suspension system is praised by testers, for its anti-squat feedback, big-hit management & bottom-out bumper, allowing riders to maintain speed.

Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL Expert Enduro E-MTB Review:
A Wild Beast With the Heart of a Road Bike

Specialized’s Kenevo SL is a great balance of outstandingly controlled, succulently smooth downhill domination with enough pop and agility to stop it from feeling like a dumb plow… an extremely well-polished complete package.

Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL Tested

Specialized’s Kenevo SL e-bike is appropriate for all-around trail riding with the added benefit of less weight… and the nimble, direction-changing demeanor of an enduro bike. Pedal strikes while climbing are common. We rode a mix of trails that left us with a serious #@%$-eating grin… It can handle a freaking beating.

Specialized S-Works Turbo Kenevo SL Review

The S-Works Kenevo SL is a thing of beauty. Specialized’s detail-oriented approach to design is evident in the seamless integration of the latest e-bike tech. It’s not picture-perfect, though. The suspension isn’t super plush and the layout limits seat post insertion.

Tested : Pete’s Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL Expert Review

If you have the talent, it will take you off-road faster than you have ever been before… I’d liken it to driving a fairly low-powered car… You certainly need to pick your gears more carefully on the Kenevo SL, but if you do, you’ll be rewarded…

Long Term Review : Pete’s Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL Expert

After spending a solid six months with the Specialized Kenevo SL Expert… It simply hasn’t put a foot wrong… suspension remains the best… SRAM GX Eagle drive train has remained crisp… a cracking bike, of that there is no doubt, it might just not be the one for me.

Specialized S-Works Turbo Kenevo SL
– In Our Big 2022 E-MTB Group Test

The weakest climbing performance and the least long-distance comfort in the entire test field… it feels like an analogue MTB with a generous tailwind. On the other hand, Specialized’s e-bruiser delivers an impressive performance on rough and fast trails and jump lines, where it shreds past most of its competitors with its lively handling and composed character.

Specialized S-Works Turbo Kenevo SL Review

The Kenevo SL might be very, very expensive, but it manages to bridge the gap between regular and full-blown e-MTB brilliantly. We were instantly impressed by just how agile and easy to manipulate the SL felt. At the end of my test ride… I felt fresher and eager for more. If you were ever on the fence about e-bikes, this could easily be the one to win you over.

Specialized S-Work Turbo Kenevo SL
– In Our Big Enduro Bike Comparison Test 2022

Specialized’s Light e-MTB steams past the competition on the climbs and shines with its smooth, intuitive handling and excellent traction. Unfortunately, on the descents it lacks agility and the suspension doesn’t offer sufficient reserves.

Test: Specialized Turbo Kenevo SL Expert [Polish]

The Turbo Kenevo is a motorized armored fist. Calmness and steadfastness radiate from it, even when bombing straight down the most broken passages. On most common trails, however, it is also accompanied by a feeling of a kind of futility.

Specialized Kenevo SL Review |
A Stunning, Lightweight, Long-Travel E-MTB

Striking a balance between a traditional enduro bike and a full-power e-MTB, the Kenevo SL hits a smaller niche, but hot damn does it hit it well! If you still don’t see the point of having less power and a smaller battery, then this bike isn’t for you.

It rides like a modern enduro bike… riding this E-bike Light was a real treat and offered nearly downhill bike performance mixed with e-MTB stability. In terms of pedal-assistance, the Kenevo isn’t a powerhouse by any means.

That’s a whole lot of money, but I have convinced myself that it is in fact good value… You are literally getting two bikes in one here. The performance, when the bike is powered up and helping you boost around, is jaw-dropping, and a pure laugh the whole time.

The ideal machine to make a smooth transition between downhill or muscle park mountain biking and an electric-assist model. It is impossible to recommend this bike to competitors who would like to embark on the Enduro Series in the VTTAE category. It is not designed for that.

I love the SL concept! The level of assistance is 2x, which gives you that feeling in your legs that an analog bike gives and that in a 4X you tend to lose… Another very important factor is the weight, 18 kilos! and you have to be honest that it comes ready for the spanking!
