BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Magicshine Monteer 8000S Galaxy. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

15 reasons to buy

  • With the Monteer 8000S, testers confidently bomb “the gnarliest, most technical trails” at high speed, in true darkness.
  • Experts rode for over 1.5 hours, with the 8000-lumen Monteer at full power.
  • The Monteer 8000S ‘turns complete darkness into daytime’.
  • Owners say the 8000S operates superbly for up to 32 hrs at lower settings.
  • Experts say the Monteer 8000S spreads its light evenly, widely and distantly.
  • The 8000S Galaxy V2 comes with a Bluetooth wireless remote.
  • Reviewers like that Magicshine employs a cross-compatible Garmin-style mount.
  • The Monteer 8000S head unit is a light 125g.
  • There are 15 modes available across 3 brightness settings.
  • The Monteer 8000S fits both 31.8 mm and 35 mm handlebars
  • An IPX5 rating ensures the Monteer is resistant to persistent water spray.
  • The Monteer 8000S’ 10,000mAh battery pack also functions as a power bank.
  • A 107cm battery cable is included with the Monteer 8000S.
  • The Monteer 8000S’ alloy body features cooling fins, to dissipate heat.
  • Owners can recharge their Magicshine Monteer 8000S via USB-C cable.

3 reasons not to buy

  • This light takes 9.5 hours to recharge.
  • Reviewers found the Monteer 8000S’ straps somewhat fiddly.
  • The Monteer 8000S’ mode and battery indicators are rudimentary.

Bottom line

The Magicshine Monteer 8000S Galaxy is the brightest bike light available. Owners say it changes their riding habits. Incorporating a 32° beam-spread from the 3x upper Cree globes and a 21° spread from the lower 2x, testers say it sends out clear and consistent illumination that spreads both far and wide. A Bluetooth remote makes the V2.0 suitable for helmet-mounting. The V1.0 is not remote compatible. The battery indicator is basic, but experts aren’t bothered, due to this light’s long battery life (at least 1.5 hours at full 8000-lumen power, up to 32 hours at lower brightnesses). This ‘one-light-to-illuminate-them-all’ comes highly recommended by experts and owners.

We couldn’t find a scenario where there wasn’t enough light to confidently and quickly pick lines while tackling tricky descents. The spot-lit area lets you pick out details such as rocks and roots, as if it were daytime.

Magicshine Monteer 8000 Light Review

This light will easily illuminate 100 m (328 ft) into the distance. At the same time, it offers a really wide pool of light close in, so we could easily see stumps and any other obstacles. The price per lumen is the best here.

Magicshine Monteer 8000S Bike Light review

This is a landmark light because of a few things, but the greatest attribute to note is the quality of construction and the consistency of the beam pattern. For the quality, usability, and lumens-per-dollar, it’s actually a good value.

[Tested] Magicshine Monteer 8000S

It’s like daylight. No matter the speed, there is no problem seeing where I’m going. With 8000 lumen, the battery will last 90 mins, so the best thing is to use it at full power only during the descents.
