In an increasingly expensive e-MTB market, Aventon’s Current receives much praise for its value. Both builds have the same high-torque 250W motor and large-capacity battery, with 150mm front/140mm rear travel RockShox suspension. In testing, the Current proves to be an excellent climber. The responsive power delivery, long range, and well-balanced geometry also impress. However, compromises include high weight, poor handling in technical terrain, weak tire casing, and some disappointing stock components. The suspension, while adequate, also lacks the support needed for proper trail riding. Experts agree the Current makes a great beginner e-MTB, but it needs a few upgrades.
