The TST Surfer initially looks like a great electric commuter at a reasonable price. Indeed, reviewers are generally happy with this bike’s speed, comfort, and practicality, but TST appears to have missed a few details that could prove crucial. The headlight is dim, there’s no rear light, the cargo rack is small, and the bike is twitchy when loaded. However, the biggest reasons to shop elsewhere are the illegal top speed, poorly tuned cadence sensor, lack of UL safety certification, and complaints by TST buyers of broken bikes and non-existent refunds.
