Bike Size Charts

BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the SkunkLock Carbon. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

4 reasons to buy

  • One expert’s test shows the SkunkLock Carbon has good resistance to angle grinder attacks.
  • Owners feel that the heavy-duty look is a good theft deterrent.
  • The lock’s wide and long inner dimensions provide versatile locking possibilities and make it a good choice for e-bikes with chunky frame tubing.
  • SkunkLock provides three keys with the Carbon.

6 reasons not to buy

  • The Carbon doesn’t come with a mount and SkunkLock doesn’t sell one.
  • Several owners find the lock finicky, with the key needing to be positioned just right.
  • The Carbon is heavy for a U-lock, and an expert describes it as bulky and inconvenient to transport.
  • This lock doesn’t have a keyhole cover to prevent ingress of water and debris.
  • Several owners complain that the plastic on the end of the lock cylinder is fragile and breaks.
  • Two owners receive no reply after contacting SkunkLock regarding broken plastic pieces.

Bottom line

The SkunkLock Carbon is a large U-lock designed to resist angle grinder attacks, and an expert's test shows it offers good protection. Reviewers find the lock finicky. The large inner dimensions make it suitable for use with e-bikes with wide tubing. Unfortunately, no mount is provided or sold separately, and the high weight makes it cumbersome to carry. The Carbon also lacks a keyhole cover, and several buyers receive locks with broken plastic components. Overall, the SkunkLock Carbon is deemed a good, competitively priced option. For superior security, experts recommend Hiplok's D1000 or DX1000.

The Best Bike Lock

SkunkLock Carbon Review: The First American Angle Grinder Resistant Bike Lock!

… the first grinder-resistant bike lock from an American brand is a good option. It’s not the most resistant lock I’ve tested, but by forcing a thief to make at least one disc change, it passes the most important test.
