Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Puckipuppy Alaskan. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Published Apr 22, 2026 by Amar Punekar.

9 reasons to buy

  • Puckipuppy's Alaskan comes with a 53L rear basket, fenders, a headlight, a taillight with brake activation, a phone mount, and side mirrors.
  • A tester appreciates the throttle’s instant response and gradual acceleration.
  • In testing, the Alaskan handles moderate hills under throttle power alone.
  • Experts say the basic suspension fork and 4” tires smooth out bumps well.
  • This trike has a 500lb payload capacity.
  • Reviewers say the hydraulic disc brakes work well.
  • The Alaskan has a parking brake.
  • The wide, low step-through frame makes the Alaskan easy to mount and dismount.
  • The bike’s IPX6 and the battery’s IPX7 water resistance ratings are above average.

6 reasons not to buy

  • Puckipuppy claims a safe top speed of 15mph, but testers reach 20mph using the throttle.
  • A 300lb reviewer gets just 8.5 miles of range over mixed terrain using mostly the throttle.
  • Folding this large and heavy e-trike is impractical.
  • Both owners and experts find assembly time-consuming, taking up to five hours.
  • Reviewers complain that the rearview mirrors loosen easily and bounce while riding.
  • The below-average 2A charger means a lengthy seven-hour charge time.

Bottom line

On paper, the Puckipuppy Alaskan appears to be a good value. The powerful motor, instant throttle response, high payload capacity, and ride comfort impress reviewers. However, battery range is poor, and the top speed is too high and exceeds the claimed speed limit. The challenging assembly also frustrates buyers. Experts deem the Alaskan a decent offering in the budget e-trike segment, but similarly priced alternatives, such as Lectric's XP Trike and Meet One's Breeze, are also worth considering.

Puckipuppy Alaskan… Submerged Battery and Dunking the Controller = Full Paw Review! Woof Woof!!

… my final thoughts on the Puckipuppy Alaskan… overall, [it’s] still going to get a passing grade. The cadence sensor right now is going to get a C, and the battery is going to get a D because I only got like eight miles.

Is the Puckipuppy Alaskan the Perfect E-Trike for Mobility Issues?

I had a good time on this bike. It was a lot of fun. I didn’t have any issue[s] with the battery. I didn’t have any issue[s] with the hills. I didn’t have any issue[s] with the heat. It was just built to explore, and it’s built pretty stout at that.
