BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.
We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.
It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.
If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews
We have read all expert and user reviews on the OTTOLOCK SIDEKICK. In summary, this is what cyclists think.
6 reasons to buy
- Owners find the keyed lock easy to open.
- The silicone coating efficiently protects frames from dents and scratches, according to owners.
- A tester says the SIDEKICK is still easy to open and close after two years of use.
- The SIDEKICK is lightweight at just 1.6lb. The XL version weighs 2.5lb.
- This compact lock leaves minimal room between the bike and locking point for getting leverage to cut it.
- The SIDEKICK's compact size makes it suitable for transporting in bags, jersey pockets, or on frame mounts.
2 reasons not to buy
- The SIDEKICK hasn’t been third-party tested to validate its security.
- The regular SIDEKICK’s 2.75” opening is too narrow to fit over some thicker poles and bike racks, according to owners.
Bottom line
OTTOLOCK’s SIDEKICK is a low-cost keyed U-lock available in two sizes: regular and XL. OTTOLOCK provides three keys. The security of this lock isn’t third-party tested. Owners praise the easy-to-use locking mechanism, low weight, and protective silicone coating. The regular version’s compact size is convenient for carrying, but the opening may not fit over thicker poles or bike racks. The XL provides additional length and a wider opening. Owners and testers deem the lightweight SIDEKICK a user-friendly option for quick stops or use in low-risk areas, but its effectiveness as a standalone lock in high-risk areas is questionable.Expert Reviews
