Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Küat NV 2.0. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Published Jan 21, 2025 by Rachel Rushing.

8 reasons to buy

This rack comes in two versions: the NV 2.0 (with a work stand) and the NV 2.0 Base (no work stand).
Long-term testers of up to five years deem the rack durable.
Bikes remain stable during transit, according to reviewers.
Testers say the rack is secure, with no sway or wobble while driving.
Experts agree that loading and unloading bikes is easy.
The NV 2.0 tilts to give access to the vehicle's rear when bikes are loaded. The lever used for tilting is also used to fold the rack up when not in use.
Küat provides a lifetime warranty for the NV 2.0
A fat tire adapter kit is included with this rack.

5 reasons not to buy

Reviewers and buyers say assembly is tedious and time-consuming, suggesting it’s a two-person job.
The trays can't be adjusted horizontally, so avoiding bike-on-bike contact can be tricky.
The heavy three and four-bike versions (89lb, 111lb) are poorly suited to users who frequently remove their racks.
The NV 2.0 isn't compatible with bikes that have fenders.
This rack isn’t rated for use on RVs.

Bottom line

Küat's NV 2.0 is a platform hitch rack available with a work stand (NV 2.0) or without (NV Base 2.0). This rack is available in two, three, and four-bike versions. The two and three-bike NV 2.0s are compatible with add-ons for carrying up to four bikes. This rack supports 50" wheelbases, 5" tires, and 20" to 29" wheels, but fenders won't fit. Experts praise the build quality, ease of use, and durability. However, assembly can be tedious, and bike-on-bike contact is an issue for some. Overall, the Küat NV 2.0 is deemed a high-quality, versatile rack worthy of its price.

I’ve owned a wide range of hitch racks over the years, but the Küat NV 2.0 is one of the most stable, reliable, and well-built platform designs I’ve seen.

If you are thinking about the Base vs. the standard version, the high buy-in cost plus [a] small discount for the Base means it’s worth getting the repair stand just in case.

I’ve had the NV 2.0 Base bike rack for at least five years now and it’s a great rack. It does everything I need but it’s got, in my opinion, one major design flaw.
