Bottom line

The Küat Beta is deemed ‘best-in-class for hanging hitch-mount racks’, by a renowned mountain bike magazine. A number of owners recommend it. An innovative cam lock reduces wobble, along with two threaded knobs. Users will need an adapter for step-through bikes. Bikes with a small main triangle may not be compatible. At 14 lb, its low weight impresses. Testers point out that it isn’t as versatile as a tray rack, but that goes for all hanging hitch-mount racks. The Küat Beta folds down for rear door access and collapses for compact storage.

AMB Reviews the Küat Bike Racks: NV 2.0, Transfer V2, Beta and Pivot

I think it’s best-in-class for this style of rack. The real masterpiece is the cam-lock. Gated pins let it fold down. Resin-headed screws wind down to reduce movement. I think that’s really smart.

Küat Beta Bike Rack

At under 15 pounds it’s comfortably light, but not so light that it would make you wonder if it’s solid. Tighten the cam down each time you put the rack on your car, and it removes all that wobble.
