Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Jansno X70. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

7 reasons to buy

  • Testers are impressed by the responsive and smooth throttle power.
  • A reviewer says the transition from pedal assist to throttle power is seamless.
  • Experts appreciate the X70's stable handling.
  • Reviewers enjoy the ride comfort thanks to the cushioned seat, fat tires, and swept-back handlebars.
  • The X70’s turning radius is good for a bike with a large dual-crown fork
  • The one-piece mag wheels eliminate the possibility of broken spokes.
  • The X70 comes with a headlight, a taillight with brake activation and turn signals, fenders, and a USB charge port in the display.

13 reasons not to buy

  • The X70 is very heavy at 95lb.
  • Testers find the X70's tame acceleration and low torque mean it struggles on steep hills.
  • Both owners and experts complain that the mechanical disc brakes and 160mm rotors are weak and noisy.
  • Two 5’8” owners find the X70 difficult to mount due to the 34” seat height, despite being rated for 5’4” to 6’2”.
  • A 210lb reviewer gets just 37 miles of throttle-only range from the massive 34Ah battery capacity.
  • Several test bikes have rattling battery mounts or controllers.
  • Reviewers agree pedaling is uncomfortable due to the lack of leg extension. A tester and a buyer also say their legs rub the seat while pedaling.
  • An expert counts a two-second delay for pedal assistance to kick in.
  • Reviewers say ghost pedaling starts around 20mph.
  • The suspension components aren't adjustable, and some experts feel the front is too soft and the rear is too stiff.
  • Reviewers bemoan the sloppy frame welds and low-quality paint.
  • Testers say the hard plastic grips do not stay in place, and one slips while using the throttle.
  • The charge time for the 20Ah battery is a lengthy 10 hours.

Bottom line

The Jansno X70 is a full suspension motorcycle-style e-bike with a 750W motor and two batteries totaling 1,632Wh. While the battery capacity is impressive at this price point, the tested throttle-only range is underwhelming. The X70's responsive, smooth throttle power and comfortable ride earn praise. However, like most motorcycle e-bikes, pedaling is uncomfortable. Some of the X70's many drawbacks include inaccurate sizing, high weight, weak brakes, poorly tuned, non-adjustable suspension, delayed pedal assist, rattling parts, and low torque. Overall, the number and severity of the X70's flaws make it a poor choice. Instead, consider Ride1UP's REVV 1.

The seat bolts are all coming loose, so I had to tighten those, and had to actually check a lot of stuff on this bike because the quality just isn’t there. But when you ride it, the quality is there…

Watch This Before You Buy a Dual Battery E-Bike

Overall, this thing is a pretty good value e-bike if you don’t care about cheap welds, cheap paint, if you want longer range with two batteries, fat tires, [and] retro style.

Lowest Priced Retro Style 100+ Mile E-Bike / Jansno X70

Overall for [the price], there’s not really much that I can complain about on this bike. There are a few things that I would love to see done a little bit better. One is the welds…

Should Overpriced E-Bikes Be Scared?

You’re going to bottom out these forks, they have no settings on them and they’re fairly soft out of the factory, and then it’s the exact opposite for the rear suspension. The rear suspension is actually fairly stiff.

Is the Jansno X70 the Best Budget E-Bike?

The front suspension is sturdy but basic, with no adjustments… for urban use, it works efficiently. Now, the part that bothered me the most was the brakes. The X70 comes with low-quality mechanical brakes.

Jansno X70 E-Bike Dual Battery 48V 34Ah 750 Watt 20″ x 4″ Fat Tire E-Bike Build Full Test Settings

It’s a little heavy… but the bike is built pretty well. The suspension is a little stiff, but it does help a lot. I do like the seat…

Bike Trails at Lake Mead on the Jansno X70 Long Range E-Bike

If you’re looking for a bike that you could just use throttle and go long range, then yes, it may be worth it. If you’re looking for a bike that’s going to be something you want to pedal… probably not.
