BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Qronge Thunder. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Updated May 17, 2026 by Reda Ashour.

9 reasons to buy

  • The Qronge Thunder comes with a headlight, a taillight with brake activation, fenders, and a 55lb-capacity rear rack.
  • Reviewers praise the throttle's responsiveness and gradual ramping of power.
  • Testers enjoy the ride comfort, saying the fat tires and adjustable suspension fork effectively eliminate small bumps.
  • The Thunder arrives locked at 20mph, but can be unlocked to reach around 31mph using PAS.
  • Experts say the handling feels stable.
  • The Thunder is available in three colors and has mounts for a water bottle and front basket.
  • Most reviewers agree the unbranded 26” x 4” tires provide good traction over varied terrain.
  • The Thunder has an above-average payload capacity of 400lb.
  • Reviewers find assembly straightforward.

9 reasons not to buy

  • Qronge lists a height range of 5’4” to 6’6”, but the bike is unlikely to fit riders at either end of that range.
  • Testers and owners complain about the weak mechanical disc brakes.
  • Experts say the Thunder struggles on steep climbs.
  • A buyer says many of the specs on the website are exaggerated or inconsistent.
  • The Thunder lacks UL certification.
  • Reviewers find the high 83lb weight makes it harder to maneuver while riding.
  • Pedal assist power delivery is delayed by one revolution, according to testers.
  • Experts note the frame welds and paint are of poor quality, and a test bike arrives badly scuffed.
  • Reviewers complain about the low-end Shimano Tourney drivetrain’s clunky shifting and poor gear range.

Bottom line

The Qronge Thunder is a budget fat-tire e-bike with a 400lb payload capacity that offers a generally comfortable ride, especially on pavement and dirt roads. Reviewers enjoy the responsive throttle's gradual acceleration and high PAS top speed when unlocked. However, the cadence sensor feels crude, resulting in a choppy riding experience. While the bike is marketed as having strong power and brakes, testing shows it struggles on inclines, and its brakes are too weak. Reviewers are happy to overlook these drawbacks for the low price, but the lack of UL safety certification should be given serious consideration.

This E-Bike Is a Tank | Qronge Thunder Review

This is a hardtail, so it’s not supposed to have rear suspension, but if this did have rear suspension, wow, it would be amazing… I think that for everything that you’re getting here, it is an awesome value for money.

Don’t Buy the Qronge Thunder E-Bike Until You Watch This

[It’s a] nice smooth throttle… This bike doesn’t have the absolute best stopping power, but that is just not a surprise with the fact that these are mechanical disc brakes.

Qronge Thunder E-Bike

When you’re going around a curve or slinging around like I was, the front would give really easy… But it’s very comfortable thanks to the large seat, big tires, and things of that nature. So, I would definitely recommend it.

Qronge Thunder E-Bike Adventure

This bike was pretty extraordinarily fun, even though it was a little bit of a headache having a massive 80lb bike on the back of the car.

I Bought This [Price] Fat Tire E-Bike… Big Mistake?! (Qronge Thunder Unboxing & Test Ride)

And like I said, you’re not going to get that customer service that you would with more reputable brands, but if you don’t have the money to spend for the bigger name brands, this is not a bad option.

The Most Affordable Fully Loaded Fat Tire E-Bike! | Qronge Thunder E-Bike

Overall, I think it’s a very good commuter bike. If you’re going to use it in flat off-road areas like this, I think it does well. I don’t think it’s made for super rough terrain areas, like trails and stuff.
