BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Yeti MTe. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

13 reasons to buy

  • The Yeti MTe is available in three builds. The ultra-light T4 has a 290Wh battery; the T3 and C2 have 561Wh units.
  • A captive chainstay flip-chip makes running a 27.5" rear wheel “super easy.” Several experts feel this massively improves the bike, adding welcome playfulness and agility in corners.
  • Experts praise the MTe’s “exceptional” ability on technical climbs.
  • A tester says the rear suspension and geo allow riders to climb with the same technique as a non-electric bike.
  • The motor’s natural power delivery is perfect for technical climbs.
  • Reviewers commend the rear suspension’s balance of traction and support, and how this support encourages playfulness.
  • Several testers say the MTe descends like a bike with more travel.
  • Experts call this the most confidence-inspiring and bottomless-feeling e-MTB they’ve tested.
  • In range testing of the T3 and C2 (561Wh), reviewers get 20 to 27 miles and 4,000 to 5,700 feet of elevation gain using max assist.
  • The shock leverage ratio can be adjusted through four levels with the frame flip chip.
  • Some reviewers say the Schwalbe Magic Mary and Albert tires (T3, C2) roll well and provide excellent traction in a variety of conditions.
  • All reviewers applaud how quiet the bike is.
  • Testers appreciate the “fantastic” Reverb dropper and generous travel on all frame sizes.

9 reasons not to buy

  • Experts say the MTe's long chainstays and wheelbase make it a handful in tight corners.
  • Hard-riding testers say the Schwalbe tires (T3, C90) lack traction, especially the rear, and the sidewalls are too weak.
  • Using max assist, a 127lb tester gets just eight miles and 2,818 feet of elevation gain from the T4’s 290Wh battery.
  • TQ’s range extender doesn’t fit the Small frame.
  • A reviewer of the T4 experiences the battery charge dropping straight from 12% to empty on two occasions.
  • Once battery charge drops to 10%, only Eco mode is available.
  • One test bike's DT Swiss 240 DEG Hub fails after 60 miles. A T3's DT Swiss EXC1700 wheel loses spoke tension.
  • One reviewer finds the T4’s SRAM Motive brakes underpowered.
  • A standard water bottle doesn't fit on the T3 build, which requires Yeti’s 15oz bottle.

Bottom line

Yeti’s MTe is a 160/145mm trail e-MTB available in three builds: C2, T3, and T4. All use the same carbon layup, but the weight-optimized T4 has a smaller battery and lighter-duty brakes and tires. Yeti appears to have nailed the geometry and rear suspension performance, producing a bike experts say climbs and descends exceptionally well. The suspension’s support encourages playfulness, especially in a mullet configuration. The motor and battery are adequate for most, though the T4’s range is poor. The Schwalbe tires (T3, C2) divide expert opinion. Overall, the Yeti MTe appears to hit the sweet spot of all-round performance.

The MTe has perhaps the most bottomless-feeling 145 mm of rear suspension I’ve ever felt on a mountain bike, motorized or not… a relatively lightweight all-mountain e-MTB that can tackle just about anything you throw at it, both up and downhill.
