Bike Size Charts

BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Velotric Tempo. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Published Apr 07, 2026 by Reda Ashour.

16 reasons to buy

  • The Velotric Tempo is available as a mid-step or high-step, each in two sizes.
  • Testers say the Shimano hydraulic disc brakes deliver reliable stopping power.
  • Reviewers find the riding position comfortable, and the stem angle can be adjusted to find the right fit.
  • The Tempo comes with a headlight, frame-integrated taillights with turn signals and brake activation, and NFC key cards.
  • Riders can switch classes, sensors, tune motor output, and adjust security settings through the display or Velotric's app.
  • Reviewers are pleased with the responsive power delivery.
  • Unlike some lightweight e-bikes, the Tempo’s battery is removable for convenient storage and charging.
  • Reviewers say it’s easy to pedal the Tempo without assistance.
  • Experts appreciate the wide gear range (46t, 11-40t) for climbing hills.
  • The Tempo (slowly) climbs an 8% grade under throttle power in one test. Other 36V, 350W bikes fail this test.
  • Reviewers enjoy the agile handling.
  • The Kenda 700c x 42mm tires provide good traction over pavement and light gravel.
  • Pulse mode automatically adjusts power output to a desired heart rate zone when connected to the included heart rate monitor.
  • Experts praise the bright, easy-to-read, and user-friendly display.
  • The Tempo's IPX6 water resistance rating is above average.
  • Velotric has over 1,200 dealers in the US, improving access to support.

8 reasons not to buy

  • Using max assist in Class 2 and Torque Sensor mode, a 180lb tester gets just 22.1 miles in a range test on pavement.
  • One tester doesn’t feel any difference in power output when changing heart rate zones in Pulse Mode, and using this mode disables the throttle.
  • Two testers hear the battery creaking when pedaling hard, and one test bike’s seat squeaks while riding.
  • Reviewers caution that significant pedaling effort is required for steep hills.
  • Fenders and a rack cost extra.
  • The heart rate monitor doesn’t automatically reconnect when leaving and returning to the Bluetooth range.
  • The cables obstruct the headlight and rub the head tube, removing paint.
  • Two reviewers weigh the large frame at 42lb instead of the claimed 39lb.

Bottom line

The Velotric Tempo is an update to the lightweight T1. This fitness-style city e-bike has the excellent customizability typical of Velotric bikes. In testing, the Tempo's comfort and handling impress. This low-torque bike may not be the strongest hill climber, but power delivery is smooth and responsive, and the wide gear range makes pedaling on hills easier. The small battery returns modest ranges, making this bike better suited to those who like to pedal and appreciate an analog bike feel. Overall, the Tempo earns high marks from all reviewers who deem it solid value.

A Fitness E-Bike That Tracks Your Heart Rate? Velotric Tempo Review – Fully Tested

That relatively minor concern aside, the Velotric Tempo is easy to recommend for fitness, leisure, daily travel, light off-road adventure, errand running, and beyond. It’s a remarkably customizable, uncommonly comfortable, robustly equipped, value-forward city e-bike with style.

Clever Active Lightweight City E-Bike ([Price] Velotric Tempo Review)

It’s also lightweight and nimble. I love that they have put a gravel tire on this, so it makes it a little bit more versatile as well. All in all, I think they really nailed it… with the Velotric Tempo.

Finally, a Good Lightweight E-Bike? Velotric Tempo Review

So, let’s go ahead and talk about what I love about the Velotric Tempo. And for me, it’s got to be the tech inside of this bike. The pulse mode is by far the coolest thing that I’ve ever seen.

Velotric Tempo Review Lightweight E-Bike That Feels Like a Real Bike, Made for the City or Gravel

It’s a small battery and a small motor which kind of pair well together… We rode two hours today. I wanted to do more, but we definitely couldn’t with this bike.

The All New Velotric Tempo – Lightweight City E-Bike Just 39LB!

All in all, you just have to know what type of bike this is. You’re not going to get a ton of range and it doesn’t have a ton of power, but it’s not that type of bike.
