BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the SWFT BMX. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

8 reasons to buy

  • Owners and testers admire the stealthy design that hides the fact it’s an e-bike.
  • The BMX comes with metal pedals, stunt pegs, a chainring guard, a kickstand, and a bright integrated headlight.
  • The 2.35” BMX tires provide a comfortable ride, according to reviewers.
  • A young tester has no problem climbing decent hills on the BMX.
  • SWFT includes the tools needed to assemble the bike.
  • One young tester says riding the BMX is like riding a regular bike but with motor power.
  • Reviewers praise the BMX's combination of fun and ability to get around.
  • Testers applaud the “very smooth” throttle.

9 reasons not to buy

  • Owners complain of faulty bikes and non-existent customer support.
  • SWFT says riders should be at least 5’3”, and an expert says the bike is too small for riders over 6’.
  • A 20mph e-bike should have brakes on both wheels, and there is no mounting point for adding a front brake.
  • Though 39.7lb is relatively light for an e-bike, it’s still heavy for a BMX bike.
  • A tester says a motor doesn’t help at a pump track or in a bowl, and the motor’s weight hinders this type of riding.
  • The BMX comes with stunt pegs, but the long geometry doesn’t suit freestyle, and grinding could damage the brake rotor.
  • An expert questions the durability of the frame and bars, adding that the geometry and build quality feel entry-level.
  • Brake lever reach cannot be adjusted to suit smaller hands.
  • The wiring and cables prevent 360 bar spins.

Bottom line

SWFT's BMX is a Class 2 e-bike with a 350W motor and 270Wh battery. Reviewers who say the BMX rides much like a regular bike praise the stealthy looks, smooth throttle, and comfortable ride. The bike proves reasonably adept at climbing hills and typical BMX activities. However, the "weird" geometry and motor weight hinder freestyle riding, and 360 bar spins aren't possible. The BMX lacks a front brake and rear light. Rider fit, especially for smaller kids, is limited. Many enjoy the SWFT BMX as a cheap e-bike, but buyers should consider the poor after-sales support.

First Ever Electric 20-Inch BMX Bike by SWFT

Everything is fine on it, but if you’re a wheelie person and you’re gonna need disc brakes, so, nine. I’d give it one more star, if they had disc brakes.

Taking the SWFT BMX E-Bike for a Spin: Fun but Not Flawless!

…it may not meet the expectations of riders seeking a more powerful motor or instant throttle control. It’s also quite small… still it’s pretty fun and user-friendly, especially if you’ve owned a BMX bike and wondered what it would feel like to electrify it.

They Make Electric BMX bikes!

The biggest difference between an e-BMX bike and a regular BMX bike is that you can’t rotate the handlebars 360. The throttle wire does stop you from fully turning them around. But other than that, Jensen thought it was a pretty solid bike.

SWFT BMX E-Bike Review: Finally a Fun Electric BMX Bike on a Budget

I probably wouldn’t recommend this for anyone in a super hilly city… But I can see it cruising up and down the coast all day, hopping curbs along the way.

Review: SWFT’s BMX E-Bike Finally Brings the Juice to a Cycling Icon

… the SWFT electrified BMX… certainly seems as tough and fun as my old Mongoose, with a little extra sumthin’ thanks to modern technology. If you’re a young rider—or still a kid at heart—I recommend it wholeheartedly.

SWFT BMX E-Bike: Tested

All in all, this bike is amazing. Maybe not comfortable enough for an everyday commuter bike, but the fun factor definitely makes up for it.
