- The “floppy” wheel cradles hit one tester's car bumper when the rack is folded up.
- The 1.25" rack doesn't have the anti-wobble system included with the 2" version.
- Many are frustrated by the two-handed wheel cradle operation. This similarly priced rack requires just one hand.
- Adjusting the rack for different wheelbases and wheel diameters requires 4mm and 5mm Hey keys and a 13mm socket wrench.
- The range of positions for each adjustment is limited.
Bottom line
Hollywood Racks' CrossTrack is a platform hitch rack for one or two 66lb bikes. A single-bike add-on is available. 52" wheelbases, 20" to 29" wheels, and 4" tires will fit, but fenders don't. Assembly and installation are simple. Once bikes are loaded, they remain stable. However, adjusting the trays and wheel cradles for different bikes requires a 13mm socket wrench and 5mm and 4mm Hex keys (included). The CrossTrack impresses most testers, but some dislike it.
