Bike Size Charts

BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the RockyMounts GuideRail. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

12 reasons to buy

  • Two medium-term testers (one year and 5,000 miles) deem the GuideRail durable.
  • The wheel hooks can be operated with one hand, allowing users to hold the bike in place with their other hand to ease loading and unloading.
  • Experts and buyers appreciate the easy installation and clear instructions.
  • The 49lb GuideRail is lightweight for a platform hitch rack.
  • The GuideRail secures bikes at the wheels, meaning there’s no frame contact.
  • This rack has an anti-wobble hitch system that testers say keeps the rack and bikes stable in transit.
  • The trays sit at staggered heights to reduce bike-on-bike contact.
  • RockyMounts provides a heavy-duty 10mm chain lock with the GuideRail.
  • The GuideRail tilts with bikes loaded, giving access to the vehicle’s rear.
  • The rack folds up when not in use to decrease the rearward footprint.
  • RockyMounts offers a limited lifetime warranty for this rack.
  • The GuideRail for 2” hitches is compatible with an add-on for carrying a third bike. This reduces the weight capacity to 45lb per bike.

2 reasons not to buy

  • This rack isn’t compatible with bikes that have fenders.
  • The GuideRail is expensive for a two-bike platform hitch rack.

Bottom line

The RockyMounts GuideRail is a platform hitch rack for two bikes available for 1.25” or 2” hitch receivers. The 1.25” version is compatible with a 2” hitch adapter sleeve (purchased separately). This rack fits 36” to 55” wheelbases, 20” to 29” wheels, and 19mm to 3” tires, though not bikes with fenders. The lightweight GuideRail receives praise for its solid build quality, stability in transit, and overall ease of use. While expensive, there’s little to criticize, and most experts consider it worthy of its price tag.

Is it worth upgrading your 1UP rack that will probably last for 20 years? I don’t know, man. That’s kind of up to you. Personally, I don’t really think it was worth it for me.

I have zero complaints. Either I am getting easier to please in my old age, or this is a solid piece of kit.

RockyMounts GuideRail

After two months of very regular use, the GuideRail is, unsurprisingly, holding up great. It’d be pretty disappointing if it wasn’t, but the overall fit and finish and build quality seem excellent, and I expect it’ll last a long time.
