BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Himiway D5 2.0. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Published Dec 12, 2025 by Nick Koleszar.

14 reasons to buy

  • Himiway offers the D5 2.0 in step-over and step-through frames.
  • Testers relish the off-road comfort provided by the RST suspension fork, rear suspension, and Maxxis tires.
  • This bike has switchable torque and cadence sensors.
  • Switching between torque and cadence sensors takes only a quarter turn of the pedals.
  • The stem offers 60° of angle adjustment for dialing in fit.
  • The D5 2.0 comes with a 60lb-rated MIK HD rear rack, fenders, a 120-lux headlight, and taillights with brake activation and turn signals.
  • Reviewers applaud Himiway equipping this bike with tubeless-ready Maxxis Minion FBF/FBR tires with EXO protection.
  • This bike is easily configured to comply with e-bike Classes 1, 2, and 3.
  • The top speed for both throttle and pedal assist can be set from 4-28mph, and the throttle can be unlocked to 28mph.
  • The maximum torque can be customized for each PAS level, and the torque sensor’s sensitivity can be tuned.
  • Reviewers praise the “extremely quiet” motor.
  • An expert relishes the “smooth” power delivery and responsive pedal assist.
  • The braking performance is excellent, especially for such a big bike, says a tester.
  • A reviewer applauds the quick acceleration using pedal assist or throttle.

4 reasons not to buy

  • The 5'1” to 6'5” height range listed for both frames is completely unrealistic. A 5'10” tester of the step-through has to fit an aftermarket seatpost to get sufficient leg extension.
  • Though 92lb isn’t particularly unusual for a full-suspension fat-tire e-bike, the D5 2.0 is still very heavy.
  • A reviewer finds the Smart Auto automatic pedal assist mode difficult to use at lower speeds.
  • The display lacks a USB port for powering devices.

Bottom line

In an e-bike market littered with poorly designed and fundamentally flawed products, Himiway's D5 2.0 appears to be a refreshingly good entrant. The attractive frame, above-average suspension, quality tires, and quiet motor are already impressive, but add the switchable torque and cadence sensors, highly customizable assistance, MIK-compatible rack, and integrated lighting, and the D5 2.0 really looks like great value. Apart from the Smart Auto feature's limited utility, and a battery that some reviewers wish were bigger, the only real failing is that riders taller than about 5'10" will need to buy a longer seatpost. Well done, Himiway!
