Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Devinci E-Troy Lite. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

13 reasons to buy

  • The E-Troy Lite comes in four builds, 2 with SRAM wireless drivetrains and 2 with SRAM mechanical.
  • Reviewers are impressed by how favorably this aluminum e-MTB’s low weight (42.99–45.19lb) compares to carbon peers.
  • Testers say the slack head angle and MX wheels allow confident charging through rough descents.
  • Reviewers enjoy tight tracks and cornering with the short rear end and 27.5” rear wheel.
  • Experts praise the traction and comfortable seated position while climbing.
  • Reviewers relish the Split Pivot suspension platform’s support and traction, and the way it soaks up hits in gnarly terrain.
  • Testers enjoy the good control and how well the front wheel tracks, thanks to the low front end.
  • Experts laud the E-Troy Lite's ability to maintain its composure while remaining agile when descending technical terrain.
  • The included 4A charger can provide a full charge in 3.5 hours.
  • Testers enjoy the stock output settings and natural power delivery of the lightweight Bosch Performance Line SX motor.
  • The Bosch eBike Flow app provides PAS tuning, ride statistics, bike tracking, OTA updates, and more.
  • The SDG Tellis dropper post performs admirably in testing, and reviewers enjoy the long travel.
  • Devinci provides a lifetime frame warranty to the original owner.

8 reasons not to buy

  • The E-Troy Lite comes only in a mullet wheel configuration and has no geometry adjustments.
  • Because the Bosch SX motor delivers more power at high cadences, experts riding at a lower cadence or in a high gear are left struggling.
  • Citing the bike's weight, low front end, and raked-out fork, several reviewers feel it takes some effort to get this bike to play and catch air.
  • A reviewer has to re-grease the pivots, and attributes this to the lack of seals on the inside of the linkage.
  • A tester says the low front end causes them to feel like they're too far over the bars when tackling steep, rocky descents.
  • An expert says the slack front end can lead to the front wheel running wide in tight corners.
  • Some experts are unhappy with the results they get using Devinci’s suspension-setup guide.
  • A tester experiences harsh bottom outs with the RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate, even after setting the shock up.

Bottom line

Devinci's E-Troy Lite is a lightweight, aluminum-frame e-MTB with a Bosch Performance Line SX drive system, available in four builds. The E-Troy Lite comes alive at high speeds and is most praised for its downhill prowess. Experts admire the reliability of the Bosch system and how its smooth power delivery enables climbing up loose and otherwise unachievable ascents, but it demands high pedal cadences. Other concerns are the small, non-removable 400Wh battery, geometry and fit issues, and suspension-adjustment woes. Also, this bike is mullet-wheel only. Overall, the E-Troy Lite is mostly seen as incredible value, given the price and specifications.

Review – Devinci E-Troy Lite

Aside from the front tire compound and low bars, we have no complaints. The Bosch motor is efficient, powerful, and quiet. The bike’s geometry is dialed and the parts are spot-on.

2024 E-MTB Lite Group Review: Devinci E-Troy Lite GX 12S Review

… an alloy e-MTB that’s made in North America [that] can hang with bikes costing thousands more, the Devinci E-Troy Lite is worth considering as long as you’ve got the skills and speed to make that head tube angle work.

Review: Devinci E-Troy Lite – Canadian Made, Reasonably Priced, & Lots of Fun

While it’s a touch noisy, it makes up for it by being a joy to both climb and descend. In addition, the aluminum frame is made in Canada, and the parts spec is well selected… for a reasonable price.

Devinci E-Troy Lite Review | Can This E-MTB Win Me Over?

The suspension kinematics and geometry made it feel like the analog bikes that we love. The Bosch SX drive system performed flawlessly, I’ve never had an issue with it, and the part spec for the price is pretty dang impressive.

Review Devinci E-Troy Lite GX AXS

The shock tune and geometry built around a Boost 148 rear-end really makes the E-Troy Lite a bike to beat. With a range extender, which unfortunately will add another bill… and better tires, you’d be having bigger and rowdier adventures.

Devinci E-Troy Lite GX AXS 12S Review: Less Power With Less Weight for Tons of Fun

With some speed behind it, the bike pops nicely off bumps, it doesn’t wallow into its travel while you’re pumping through rollers or berms, and it will spring out of corners nicely.
