Bike Size Charts

BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Denago City Model 1. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

12 reasons to buy

  • The City Model 1 comes in a step-through or step-over frame.
  • The 3A charger cuts charging times by one-third compared to typical 2A chargers.
  • The max speed can be adjusted in one-mile-per-hour increments between 11 and 28mph.
  • Experts say it's easy to get comfortable thanks to the upright position, ergonomic grips, padded saddle, adjustable stem, and quick-release seatpost.
  • Testers agree the Zoom hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors provide strong, easily modulated braking.
  • One expert reckons the City Model 1 seriously outperforms similarly priced competitors.
  • A tester compliments the "smooth and refined" Shengyi hub motor.
  • The 2.2-inch Kenda Kwick tires are puncture-resistant. Reviewers praise the traction and comfort on pavement, dirt, and gravel.
  • An expert says the large display is easy to read in sunlight.
  • As a safety feature, the throttle only works when the pedals are turning, preventing the bike from launching forward if the rider accidentally brushes the throttle.
  • Several riders feel the bike's ability to get up to speed and cruise up hills is impressive at this price point.
  • An expert appreciates the double chain guard, which helps riders avoid soiled clothes.

3 reasons not to buy

  • The City Model 1 doesn't have lights, a rack, or fenders.
  • Two users find the power too sensitive, saying it takes time to get used to the initial acceleration.
  • Some users are unhappy about not being able to use the throttle from a standstill.

Bottom line

The City Model 1, a 500W e-commuter, was Denago's first bike. It’s available in a step-over or step-thru frame. Owners can easily adjust the riding position and speed limit (11mph to 28mph) to switch between Class 2 or 3 configuration. Unfortunately, the power can be too sensitive. The bike also doesn't have lights, fenders, or a rack, so buyers may have to budget extra for those components. Nonetheless, experts appreciate the strong motor and brakes and comfortable ride quality, rating the bike as a worthy contender at this price point.

This Electric Road Bike is a Blast and Got Me Back to Big Nature (Spoiler: It’s Not a Cheat)

This city bike is great for riding around cities when you don’t want to get in your car and deal with parking, expensive Uber rides, or traffic. I can now say goodbye to the grind of fighting for parking at the beach, too.
