Bottom line
Juliana makes mountain bikes for women. In the Furtado’s case, the Santa Cruz 5010 gets the treatment with more appropriate bars, saddle, standover, reach and cranks. By all reports, it climbed and descended well. Sometimes, the Furtado was capable on downhill but really more at home on cross-country and trails. Thoughtful touches include shorter cranks on smaller sizes. The Furtado is customized to shorter riders, 4’8” to 5’9”. There is no size ‘L’. This was seen as a stellar all-round bike. Reviewers recommended something beefier with longer travel for those accustomed to plummeting down raucous descents. All in all, pros and owners loved the Furtado.
