BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the 79Bike Viper S. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Published Jul 28, 2026 by Reda Ashour.

10 reasons to buy

  • The 79Bike Viper S comes with a front light, a taillight with brake activation, and fenders.
  • Testers relish the strong low-end torque, fast initial acceleration, and smooth power delivery.
  • Reviewers say the brakes provide reliable stopping power.
  • In testing, the Viper S handles steep hills on and off-road.
  • Reviewers enjoy how easy it is to maneuver and flick the bike around tight corners.
  • The Fast Ace suspension fork works well, according to testers.
  • Reviewers are impressed by how the Viper S powers through loose and rough off-road terrain.
  • The knobby tires provide good traction in the grass and dirt.
  • A secret “Tilt” mode can be unlocked for additional torque.
  • The compact size makes the Viper S easier to transport and store.

10 reasons not to buy

  • Experts wish for a longer seat to be able to slide back, especially for wheelies.
  • Testers complain about the uncomfortable, firm, and slick seat.
  • The Viper S's power, speed, and regen settings can't be tuned.
  • An expert finds the brakes prone to fading.
  • The Viper S has only two power modes. Reviewers say the lower mode's 10 to 15mph max with heavy regen braking means it's useless.
  • Testers are disappointed that the bike tops out at around 26mph on flat ground.
  • The rear shock bottoms out easily.
  • The 165lb payload capacity is low compared to other electric dirt bikes.
  • Reviewers complain the battery rattles and the motor is loud under heavy load.
  • The product specifications are contradictory across 79Bike's multiple websites.

Bottom line

The 79Bike Viper S is a unique electric dirt bike with a seat that folds down to be ridden like a scooter. Its compact size and low payload capacity mean that this bike is really only suitable for teens. The Viper S earns praise for its high torque and agile handling that allow reviewers to wheelie, jump, ride through loose terrain, and tackle climbs easily. Unfortunately, it’s not very comfortable due to its hard, short seat and unconventional ergonomics. The absence of tuning options also disappoints. Overall, the Viper S's value is debated as much as its polarizing looks.

The Future of Electric Bikes? Viper S First Ride

It rides smoothly. It’s got some good power. The only thing I would say is that from 26 to 28mph, it can be a little bit sluggish at times, unless you’re going downhill.
