We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Heybike Sports Villain. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Published Apr 30, 2026 by Reda Ashour.

12 reasons to buy

  • The Villain comes with a headlight and mudguards and has regen braking, reverse mode, and a magnetic kill switch.
  • Testers say power delivery is smooth and responsive.
  • An expert finds the claimed acceleration (0-10mph in under 1 second) is accurate.
  • Reviewers are pleased to see the Villain uses a tunable Fardriver controller.
  • In testing, the Villain reaches an externally verified 44.3mph.
  • Reviewers praise the Villain’s strong climbing abilities.
  • Experts say the brakes are reliable and powerful.
  • Testers under 140lb say the suspension performs well on dirt paths and moderate trails.
  • Reviewers enjoy the Villain's nimble handling, though one finds it twitchy at high speeds.
  • An expert finds the tires provide good traction on dirt.
  • The 29.5” seat height makes the bike accessible to shorter riders.
  • The Villain has a Bluetooth companion app to adjust settings such as throttle response, regen, and speed.

10 reasons not to buy

  • Buyers receive bikes with poor quality control. One bike’s rear sprocket breaks off the hub after five miles.
  • Though recommended for riders 3’9” to 6’1”, 6’ reviewers find the Villain too small.
  • A 160lb tester gets just 18.4 miles from a full battery, and a 180lb tester gets 15.5 miles riding in the highest power setting (3).
  • A 200lb reviewer finds the suspension easily bottoms out, and it’s not adjustable.
  • Heybike Sports claims the Villain has a water resistance rating of IPX6, but says to avoid water and that water damage voids the warranty.
  • The battery is advertised as removable, but testers say removal is tricky.
  • One tester finds the kickstand too tall, meaning the bike tips easily.
  • Reviewers using an external GPS find the display’s speedometer reads up to 7mph too high.
  • One test bike's throttle has a dead zone at the start of the twist, where it doesn't engage the motor.
  • Reviewers complain about the cheap wing-nut bolt that holds the seat on, and one owner says it flies off while riding.

Bottom line

The Heybike Sports Villain is the brand's first e-dirt bike. With its small wheels, it's best recommended for riders under 5'10", despite being rated for riders up to 6'1". Reviewers are most impressed by the Villain's power, which is delivered smoothly, making the bike manageable for beginners in the lower two modes. However, it takes off aggressively in the highest power mode. In testing, the bike performs well, but the battery range disappoints. Several buyers report quality control issues with this budget dirt bike. Nonetheless, for the price, most agree the Villain delivers a lot of value.

Heybike Villain Review: 4.2KW Pit Bike Hits 45+MPH for [Price]

On a 125lb bike, that’s a lot of twist for the money. Acceleration is rated at 0–10mph in under a second, and in practice, that checks out, this thing launches and it’s a challenge to keep the front wheel down.

Heybike Villain Review + Desert Shenanigans

The low-end torque is very, very small. It takes a while to ramp up, but as you guys saw when Eric was riding it, it ramps up. It goes almost 40mph, so that’s pretty impressive.
