BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Yvolution Velo Junior. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Updated Apr 14, 2026 by Rachel Rushing.

9 reasons to buy

  • The Velo Junior comes with two rear wheels that can be used simultaneously to aid with balance.
  • Most say that the Yvolution Velo Junior is easy to assemble.
  • Two reviewers say the bike is well-constructed.
  • The Velo Junior has low-maintenance non-pneumatic rubber wheels.
  • Buyers can choose from four bright colorways.
  • The handlebar height can be adjusted between two positions.
  • A tester says the tires don’t mark their hardwood flooring.
  • Like the Senior version, this has a fixed steering limiter to prevent the front wheel from jack-knifing.
  • Several replacement parts are available for the Velo Junior.

5 reasons not to buy

  • Owners complain about the durability of the plastic components, including a rear wheel that breaks off on first use and handlebars that jam due to a failed plastic bearing.
  • The seat only has three height settings, which prove too high or too low for some toddlers.
  • Some parents feel the bike is too heavy for their toddler, though others say their kids manage fine.
  • Several owners feel that the rear of the bike is too close to the seat, causing some toddlers to bump their legs or ankles.
  • A reviewer feels the tires are unsuitable for rough terrain.

Bottom line

The Yvolution Velo Junior is a balance bike for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years. Its standout feature is a double-rear-wheel system that converts to a single wheel as balance improves. Many praise the easy assembly. However, durability issues arise with plastic components, and some feel the seat position is awkward, as little ones with a lengthy stride may bump the rear of the bike with their feet. Overall, experts and owners deem the Yvolution Velo Junior a bargain.

[This] balance bike provides a fun and easy introduction to bicycles for very young toddlers. Its low minimum seatpost height, light weight, and innovative double rear wheel make it superior to most balance bikes for learning to ride.
