Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Velotric Triker. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Published Oct 01, 2025 by Reda Ashour.

12 reasons to buy

  • Experts enjoy how the adjustable stem, swept-back bars, and adjustable padded seat and backrest add comfort.
  • The wide and low step-through makes the Triker easy to mount, according to reviewers.
  • The two-piston hydraulic disc brakes and 180mm rotors deliver reliable stopping power in testing.
  • Reviewers say power delivery is immediate and acceleration is quick.
  • Testers appreciate the simple controls and large, easy-to-use display.
  • The Triker has switchable torque and cadence sensor modes.
  • The companion app gives users access to Apple FindMy, ride tracking, and OTA updates.
  • The stock 12mph top speed is sensible for an e-trike, and the Triker has an 8mph beginner mode for getting used to riding.
  • A 225lb tester gets 25.9 miles of range at max PAS in cadence sensor mode on a hilly route.
  • The Triker can handle steep gradients under throttle power alone.
  • The Triker comes with lights, turn signals, fenders, a backrest, mirrors, a rear basket rated to carry 120lb, and a basket bag.
  • The frame has mounts for a front basket and three bottle cages.

8 reasons not to buy

  • The unlocked 20mph top speed should be used with care. Experts recommend caution when turning or tackling uneven surfaces at speeds above 10mph.
  • At a tested 98lb, the Triker is heavier than most competitors, and significantly heavier than Velotric’s 85.8lb claim.
  • Two testers complain that the included fenders don’t align properly.
  • Experts say folding the Triker is difficult and doesn’t save much space.
  • A reviewer complains that the wide saddle rubs their inner thigh while pedaling.
  • Two testers report squealing brakes.
  • Reviewers are startled by the extremely loud 90dB horn.
  • A tester says the rearview mirrors show a distorted view.

Bottom line

The Triker is Velotric's first entry into the e-trike segment. It has a powerful 750W motor that handles steep hills, provides fast acceleration, and easily moves heavy loads. Testers feel the Triker's folding ability offers minimal benefit. Its unlocked top speed of 20mph is unnecessary and potentially dangerous, but the 12mph default top speed and 8mph beginner mode are perfect. Reviewers recommend adding a suspension seatpost for rear-end comfort. The Triker's feature-rich design distinguishes it from its competitors, and experts ultimately feel it's worth the added cost. For a cheaper alternative, consider the RadTrike or XP Trike2.

Velotric Triker E-Trike

[It’s] a lot to pay for a trike, but this is the nicest, most powerful trike that I have reviewed. When I think about who this trike is for, I think about people that have mobility issues or somebody that has balance issues.

This Electric Trike Solves Problems You Didn’t Know You Had – Velotric Triker Review

Velotric has a true UL-certified battery, which is a huge bonus… It’s got that low step-through frame, a lot of adjustability, so it can fit a lot of different riders. I feel comfortable on this thing at 6’5”.
