Bike Size Charts

BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Trek FX+ 7. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

16 reasons to buy

  • The FX+ 7S is available as a step-through or mid-step, each in four sizes.
  • Experts enjoy the agile and responsive handling.
  • At around 42lb, the FX+ 7S is light for a city e-bike with a rack and fenders.
  • All reviewers praise the “near-silent” TQ HPR50 motor for providing smooth and subtle assistance.
  • Testers of the step-over frame appreciate the comfort and visibility afforded by the upright riding position.
  • Most reviewers love how much the Trek FX+ 7 feels like a non-electric bike to ride.
  • Testers say riding the bike without motor assistance is manageable.
  • The FX+ 7S comes with integrated lights, fenders, and a MiK-compatible rear rack rated for 55lb.
  • The stem has an integrated phone mount with wireless charging when paired with a Quad Lock phone case (purchased separately).
  • The 10-speed Shimano CUES drivetrain (11-48t cassette, 46t chainring) provides ample gearing range.
  • The FX+ 7 is compatible with an optional 160Wh range extender.
  • Users can tune the torque sensor and each pedal assist level through Trek’s app.
  • The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes perform well in brake tests.
  • The low-key e-bike system, one-piece cockpit, and fully integrated cables provide a clean aesthetic.
  • The Bontrager Paradigm rims are tubeless-ready.
  • Trek provides a lifetime warranty on the frame and fork.

8 reasons not to buy

  • Reviewers get just 15 to 20 miles of range in various real-world range tests.
  • The one-piece handlebar and stem and internal cable routing limit fit adjustment and complicate servicing.
  • Two reviewers complain of a harsh ride over broken pavement.
  • The battery isn’t removable, so charging is less convenient.
  • Testers lament having to take their eyes off the road for a long time to read the small, low-mounted display.
  • Riders must remove a hand from the bars to operate the display, and one reviewer struggles to push the button while wearing gloves.
  • One expert reports some motor resistance when exceeding the top assisted speed.
  • A tester finds the remaining range estimate and battery indicator in the app inaccurate.

Bottom line

Trek's FX+ 7 is an electric city bike available in one build, the Class 3 FX+ 7S, with the choice of step-through or step-over frames. The incredibly smooth, subtle pedal assist, agile handling, and high-quality accessories impress. Poor range and weak motor assistance are trade-offs for the bike’s low weight. Some reviewers find the ride slightly harsh and the display poorly positioned. Overall, experts agree the FX+ 7S suits riders who are willing to forego power and range to enjoy the natural feel of a traditional bike. Trek’s FX+ 1 is a more affordable alternative.

Trek FX+7S Review

I found the Trek FX+7S to be adept at general commuting but lacking the power and range for serious hauls. This feels like the commuter e-bike for someone who doesn’t want an e-bike. They don’t want a heavy, cumbersome, complex machine…

Trek FX+ 7 Test: 18KG for an Electric Bike as Agile as a Muscle Bike [French]

Light, fluid and ultra-manageable, it gives the impression of riding a real bike, not a motorised brick… The non-removable battery is a dealbreaker if you can’t mount and/or store the bike at home. The same goes for the range, which is too short.
