14 reasons to buy

  • Experts say the Lewis brakes provide strong stopping power with excellent modulation.
  • The Falcon GT comes with a chrome bash guard, footpeg support bar, and direct stem mount.

  • Experts praise the adjustable suspension’s performance on pavement and light off-road terrain.
  • Testers appreciate the nimble handling.
  • The Falcon GT has dedicated controls for regen braking and reverse gear.
  • The bike’s IP68 water resistance rating means the Falcon GT can be ridden in heavy rain without worry.
  • Reviewers are impressed by the bike's durability after crashing.
  • The Falcon GT handles all hills encountered in testing, on and off-road.
  • A reviewer gets 26 miles of battery range riding at around 45 to 48mph in max power mode (Sport) on the road.
  • The Falcon GT’s lighting includes a headlight with two beams, a taillight with turn signals and brake activation, and an LED halo on the motor.

12 reasons not to buy

  • A reviewer says the kickstand is too weak for the bike’s weight.
  • The bike feels "shaky" and "scary" when ridden at its max speed, according to a tester.
  • Experts are annoyed by the squeaky brakes.
  • Testers advise replacing the slippery footpegs.
  • Two reviewers would prefer a taller front end for more controlled handling.
  • Regen doesn't work above 30mph.
  • Reviewers warn that the suspension is too soft for hard off-road hits, even after making adjustments.
  • A tester finds the battery cover latch and lock finicky.
  • On two test bikes, the motor drive belt is too tight.
  • One test bike suffers a controller failure that causes it to continue accelerating without engaging the throttle. Another bike's reverse mode doesn't work.
  • One tester's battery fails within two months, requiring warranty replacement.
  • The chain on one reviewer's bike becomes loose after an aggressive test ride through soft dirt.

Bottom line

The 79Bike Falcon GT electric dirt bike is the souped-up version of the Falcon Pro, with more power and torque and better components. Reviewers praise the Falcon GT for being ready to ride out of the box, with solid brakes and accessories. The ride is described as agile with blistering fast acceleration and speed. However, reviews express concern over electrical issues, squeaky brake pads, overly soft suspension, and a tight motor belt. Despite mixed reports on 79Bike's customer support, experts agree that the Falcon GT is compelling value.

79Bike Falcon GT — Five Reasons It Drives Me Nuts. Watch Before You Buy Surron!!!

But the bike is a very fun bike. It scares me a ton. I got the bike to 61mph slightly on the downhill, and that was scary. The bike was really shaky and vibrating when I got it that high.

The “Surron Killer” I Should’ve Bought!

If you were to get this bike, you could leave it bone stock and just enjoy it and have a great time. If you did want to throw a 19”/16” wheelset [on it], that’s probably what I would recommend.

But at the end of the day, [it’s a] phenomenal bike, especially at the current price. It does anything I want it to. I’ve had absolutely no issues in well over 300 miles of beating the bike remorselessly.

E-Bikes Keep Getting Better… This Might Be the Best Yet

So, the throttle is super snappy, but there’s an update where it smooths it out. I did notice that it was a little funny… but once you’re used to it, it’s manageable.

79Bike Falcon GT Review | Pros & Cons

Overall, I really like this bike. The only thing I dislike really bad and it’s pretty dangerous: I don’t know if it’s me or if anyone else has this problem, but when I’m going 30-40mph, the bike just keeps accelerating.

And like I said while riding, I’m really enjoying this bike. It’s a good bike: good brakes, high-quality build, good suspension, and it’s got a ton of power. Plus, it just looks really nice.
