On paper, the URS 01’s Gravel+ geometry and front and rear micro suspension make it the perfect tool to tackle the “rowdy,” as BMC claims. Experts give the bike top marks for comfort over long days in the saddle, and the low, slack geometry inspires confidence. However, the suspension stem hinders control in certain situations, and the underwhelming 47mm tire clearance doesn’t match the bike’s otherwise forward-thinking design. What could be a hugely capable machine is further hampered by a too-low bottom bracket. If comfort is the priority, the URS 01 is a top choice. If not, better options may exist.
