Marin bases their Class 1 Sausalito e-bikes on the classic daily-rider and mountain bike geometry that comprises the brand’s legacy. As a result, these bikes ride comfortably on a variety of surfaces. Both models are equipped with Shimano STEPS motors. The E2 is fitted with an E6100 system that pulls 60Nm of torque. The E1 uses a STEPS E5000 and achieves 40Nm, which means that some pedal-power is needed to conquer steeper hills. The E2 is fitted with a 63mm suspension fork. With a 44t chainring and 11-51t (E2) or 11-46t (E1) cassette, the gear range is wider than most of the competition.
