  • The Maxxis Rekon tire in the rear is low profile and sluggish. Experts would suggest swapping it for a faster rolling, knobbier tire.
  • Experts agree the SRAM G2 brakes are underpowered for heavier riders. They suggest adding larger rotors and upgrading to SRAM Code brakes.
  • Cable rattle was an annoyance, according to some testers.

Bottom line

The Yeti SB140 is an all-mountain bike that can conquer trail obstacles including roots, rocks and drops. It excels on enduro trails. It has 140 mm travel in the rear and 160 mm upfront. The Switch Infinity suspension setup is stable and supportive. The bars are wide for greater stability and control. There is room for a water bottle in the frame and the cables are internally routed. Some found they still rattled, despite being in sleeves. The stock SRAM G2 brakes are underpowered, according to some experts. Most experts agree that the Maxxis Rekon is a poor choice for a rear tire and suggested swapping it out.
