We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. • Reviewers compliment the bike’s retro motorcycle design.
  • The Valen Rev+ comes with a large headlight, a taillight with brake activation, and fenders.
  • A reviewer appreciates the even power distribution between all six assist levels.
  • Testers agree the “plush” seat, 100mm suspension fork, and 20” x 4” fat tires make for a comfortable ride on pavement.
  • The Valen Rev+ has one of the best braking distances of the moto-style e-bikes tested by one expert.
  • In a max pedal assist test, the 180lb reviewer covers 36.5 miles on a flat route at 15.3mph, outperforming most similar models.
  • A reviewer enjoys the motor’s smooth yet punchy acceleration.
  • Two testers praise the cadence sensor, highlighting the quick power delivery within half of a pedal stroke.

  • The color display is bright and easy to read in direct sunlight, according to a reviewer.

7 reasons not to buy

  • The moto-style design means limited leg extension and uncomfortable pedaling, especially for taller riders.
  • Two reviewers complain about the noisy tires when riding on pavement.
  • A tester reports ghost pedaling before reaching the top speed of 28mph due to the small 38t chainring.
  • The bike’s 31.5” standover height means it’s unlikely to fit riders below 5’8”.
  • A reviewer says riders over 6’0” may find the frame too small.
  • Retrospec claims the Valen Rev+ weighs 72lb, but a tester weighs it at 80.5lb.
  • One expert says the brake light is small.

Bottom line

The Retrospec Valen Rev+ is a fat-tire moto-style e-bike with a 750W motor and a 720Wh battery. Experts say it outperforms similar, more expensive competitors. The bike earns praise for its looks, braking power, responsive motor, quick acceleration, climbing abilities, and range. Reviewers say the bike is best suited to throttle riding, as pedaling is uncomfortable, especially for taller riders. Additionally, shorter riders are unlikely to fit. Other complaints include low gearing and a misleading weight figure. Reviews of this model are limited, but the Retrospec Valen Rev+ is deemed a great option in the moto-style category.

The Budget-Friendly Super73 E-Bike You’ve Been Looking For? | Retrospec Valen Rev+ Review

All in all, this is a pretty sweet bike for the price. I’ve got a couple of small… complaints, just you know, things we could upgrade. We already talked about the [gear] ratio, that would be one.
