Bike Size Charts

BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

  • By delivering 25-45 miles of range, the RadExpand covers most riders’ daily needs.

  • Reviewers are pleased with the range offered by MicroShift’s 7-speed drivetrain.
  • A reviewer says the RadExpand’s folding joints feel secure.

  • A tester notes that gussets increase the strength of the RadExpand 5’s frame.
  • The RadExpand 5 is equipped with integrated front and rear lights.
  • A rear rack is included in the RadExpand 5’s package.

5 reasons not to buy

  • The hinge can weaken on the RadExpand 5’s folding handlebars.
  • A tester laments the lack of a speedometer or odometer on the RadExpand 5’s display.
  • Shorter riders may have to raise or turn the seat to remove the battery.
  • Experts describe the 62.5lb RadExpand as being a heavy bike.
  • Some components; including gearing, brakes, brake levers, freewheel and bash guard have been downgraded from those used on the previous RadMini models.

Bottom line

The RadExpand 5 is an evolution of Rad Power’s RadMini line, but it loses the bulky suspension fork and any extra weight that goes with it. Fat 4” tires take on the work of absorbing any road imperfections. This is a Class 2 rig with a 750W motor and step-through frame. This frame shape makes it easy to get on and off (especially with a loaded rack), as well as planting feet flat on the ground when coming to a stop. Some components and their brands have been changed and are seen as downgrades, but the RadExpand 5 is considerably lighter than its predecessors. It comes with a rack and suits commutes.

Rad Power Bikes RadExpand 5 Review: Here’s What’s Hidden in Rad’s New Fat Tire Folding Electric Bike

All told, there’s very little I can complain about here. The bike was a killer deal at its promotional introductory price. Now at its new price (thanks, inflation), the RadExpand 5 is still a lot of bike for your money. I still recommend it to folks who want most of the benefits of the RadRunner, but who prefer a folding package.

Rad Power Bikes RadExpand 5 : Unofficial Review

As you guys can see, pretty handsome bike. Is it better than the RadMini Step-Thru 2? Should you get a Mini? That’s up to you. They’re pretty much the same. But the biggest thing for me is the BMX bars. I love the BMX bars. These are seven inches tall. Most of the downgrades, they’re $10 to $20 downgrades so there’s not much to complain about.

RadExpand 5 Review: Rad Power Bikes’ NEW Folding Ebike!

I’m just a huge fan of this step-through, just so easy to get your leg over. It is the most accessible model sold by Rad Power Bikes and in my opinion, this is one of the best designs as far as foldable electric bikes go.
