  • A respectable 48V 17.5Ah battery size means ranges of 25mi to 65mi.
  • The M-50’s 750W motor puts out 80Nm of torque.
  • An 80mm suspension fork will smooth out the ride on uneven roads.
  • The M-50 has a highly adjustable stem, to fit riders of varying heights.
  • The M-50 comes equipped with a rear rack.
  • Full fenders are fitted to the M-50.
  • An integrated rear light activates upon braking.

4 reasons not to buy

  • A number of buyers feel let down by Addmotor’s instructions for the M-50.
  • It took 7 hours for one owner to assemble the M-50, using online video guides.
  • Some taller riders feel cramped behind the M-50’s swept-back handlebars.
  • A few buyers find the M-50’s stock saddle to be uncomfortable.

Bottom line

The Addmotor M-50 is a compact electric fatbike with 20” wheels and 4”-wide tires. Addmotor specifies the M-50 as suitable for riders from 5’2” to 6’0” but it seems to be just the ticket for shorter riders. It only comes in one size but is fitted with a highly adjustable stem. With its low center-of-gravity and step-thru frame, it also finds favor with older and less flexible riders. With front suspension, it’s got the chops to ride on gravel and dirt but isn’t intended for fully sick trails. Inadequate instructions do bring some assembly woes.

Addmotor M-50 BMX Style Ebike

I’m happy with the Addmotor M-50. We got these because we are a little bit shorter. I’m 5’4” and she’s 5’3”. Fits perfect. Get on and off real easy. Got a lot of pep, got up to 28mph. I don’t know, I just really like the bike.
