For several riders, climbing was hard work.

At nearly 60lbs, including an 8.5lb steel cargo crate, the Tristar is a dumpy rig.

Assembly was not difficult but was time-consuming and somewhat involved.

Small wheels delivered a bumpy ride and didn’t aid acceleration.

Sometimes, pre-assembly was lacking; with rusty headsets, bottom brackets, warped bearing washers, scratches, sharp edges to the basket...

In a couple of situations, screw threads were shot and needed re-threading.

This tricycle performed very well at moderate speeds on flat ground and gentle inclines. Owners found it perfect for running errands, shopping trips, laundry jaunts or toting the dog to the park. It’s a chunky machine, though. And this means that some riders, especially those of senior years, found it a struggle to get up real hills. Also, some buyers received dud specimens once and even a second time, before the manufacturer delivered a damage and flaw-free example. Once a clean rig was assembled, owners were pleased with a practical and casual workhorse.
