BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.

We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.

It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.

If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Beecool Bee Challenger. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

4 reasons to buy

  • The Bee Challenger has lights, turn signals, and fenders.
  • A reviewer likes the motorcycle styling of the big headlight, ape-hanger handlebar, and 'gas tank' battery.
  • A reviewer is pleased with the handling on a smooth road, saying it feels like a motorcycle.
  • An expert finds the dual-shock rear suspension absorbs bumps well.

12 reasons not to buy

  • Though a tester enjoys the acceleration and speed using the throttle, the 1000W motor and 33mph top speed breach e-bike rules, meaning it can't legally be ridden as an e-bike in most jurisdictions.
  • The fixed, 31.6” seat height makes the stated 5’2”–6’3” fit range unrealistic for smaller riders.
  • Though a reviewer likes the 1440Wh battery's theoretical range, they don't test it. Owners give real-world figures roughly half that found in the marketing materials, and highlight how hard this bike is to pedal without motor assistance.
  • A full charge takes 10 hours, and the non-removable battery limits charging, parking, and storage options.
  • This bike is heavy (106lb) and long (78.7”), making it hard to transport and store.
  • With 180mm rotors and only two pistons per caliper, the brakes are woefully underpowered for a bike this heavy and fast, as a reviewer finds in testing.
  • The 48T chainring and 14-28T freewheel lead to ghost pedaling at higher speeds and inefficient pedaling at lower speeds.
  • A tester bemoans the sloppy cable management, “lacking” paintwork, and rattling fenders.
  • Bee Cool states this bike comes with an advanced, adjustable 60mm suspension fork. A tester finds the cheap fork is only 45mm, easily bottoms out, and can't be adjusted. An owner complains that the rear suspension bottoms out too easily.
  • A reviewer is disappointed the uncomfortable seat can't be changed and that their knees hit the wide battery when pedaling.
  • A test bike arrives with a damaged headlight. An owner complains of three flat tires in the first 67 miles, and within 350 miles, both brakes had failed and the fenders had fallen off.
  • Though Bee Cool claims a 400lb weight limit for this bike, there's no realistic way to carry much cargo.

Bottom line

The Bee Cool Bee Challenger is a motorcycle-style e-bike with a 1000W motor and 1440Wh battery. The sole reviewer is most impressed by the large-capacity battery, high top speed, and looks, and says the rear shocks work well. However the fork is cheap and ineffective, the fixed seat is hard and uncomfortable, and the battery impedes pedaling. Other complaints include the poor brakes, heavy weight, large size, inaccurate specifications, slow charging, and ghost pedaling. Although the Bee Challenger has a “cool” aesthetic, its poor build and ride quality, cheap components, and questionable utility mean there's little else to enjoy here.

Bee Cool Challenger Electric Bike Review: Basically a Motorcycle with Pedals

The Challenger has the largest battery we have ever seen on an electric bike, but it is also the heaviest we have reviewed. It’s a fun e-bike to ride, but it’s not going to give you the traditional cycling experience.
