Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Rondo MYLC CF. In summary, this is what cyclists think.

16 reasons to buy

  • All reviewers highlight the MYLC CF's stability, saying it handles fast and technical gravel trails with "confidence."
  • Experts agree the MYLC CF excels on steep downhill sections with "stable and reassuring" performance.
  • One expert relishes the bike's potential at the "extreme end of gravel endeavors."
  • The frame has routing for a dropper seatpost and is compatible with 1x and 2x drivetrains.
  • The MYLC CF has clearance for 650b x 54mm or 700c x 47mm tires.
  • The MYLC CF has mounts for three bottle cages, a top tube bento box, and fenders, and the fork has triple mounts and internal routing for dynamo wiring.
  • Rondo's TWIN TIP dropout design provides a choice of two geometries (high and low).
  • The low geo setting works to "epic effect in the rough," and the high position is "sportier" and "more aero."
  • One expert says the "wonderfully balanced" MYLC CF1 "achieves its off-road ambitions with aplomb."
  • Testers praise the "very smooth ride," highlighting the effectiveness of the "excellent" foam-filled Vibrocore handlebars (CF1).
  • The 46cm handlebar width and 25-degree flare provide extra leverage off-road.
  • Vittoria's Terreno Mix 700c x 40mm tires complement the bike's abilities and perform well, even in "sloppy" or "muddy" conditions.
  • At 20.6lb, the CF1 build is light for a mid-level gravel bike.
  • SRAM's Rival AXS groupset (CF1) delivers "superb" shifting and "progressive" braking that's easy to modulate, according to testers.
  • Reviewers say the MYLC CF rolls relatively well on asphalt.
  • A tester likes Rondo's "eye-catching" approach to frame design. Another compliments the "very high standard" of finish.

6 reasons not to buy

  • Experts rue the omission of a dropper seatpost, saying a bike with these gravity-riding chops should come with one.
  • The MYLC CF's geometry puts the rider "a bit too far forward" during out-of-the-saddle efforts when climbing, impacting rear-wheel traction.
  • One expert says sizing runs large and recommends choosing a smaller size than Rondo suggests.
  • A tester laments the choice of a press-fit bottom bracket over a more durable, easier-to-maintain threaded one.
  • Two experts say maneuverability is compromised by the emphasis on stability.
  • A reviewer thinks the TWIN TIP dropout feature is unnecessary and recommends leaving it set to low.

Bottom line

The Rondo MYLC CF is a "gravity-focused graveller" that experts say blurs the lines between gravel and mountain bikes. The carbon MYLC comes in two builds: CF1 and CF2. Reviewers praise the stable, confidence-inspiring handling, which shines at the "extreme end" of gravel riding. Experts deem the MYLC CF suitable for experienced riders and beginners or "ex-roaders." Despite having ample tire clearance and mounts and being compatible with 650b or 700c wheels and 1x or 2x drivetrains, the frame remains relatively lightweight. Complaints seem relatively minor given the overwhelming praise the MYLC CF receives, but all experts recommend adding a dropper seatpost.

Rondo MYLC CF1 Review

The MYLC’s build offers a lot of fun for the money. The shifting is superb, the braking a match, and the contact points are well-considered… the ride is addictive thanks to its off-road handling chops.

Rondo MYLC: The Gravel Joy Machine [French]

… the Rondo MYLC will appeal to both experienced riders who enjoy a challenging ride, as well as more novice riders or ‘ex-roaders’, who are often not very technical, but who will find the MYLC a very stable machine that will reassure them on the most challenging descents and trails.

Rondo MYLC – Trailblazer With Drop Bars [Polish]

The MYLC fills a niche, it’s an experiment – a successful one, but not a mass-market one. It’s a great alternative to a MTB bike if you don’t happen to have mountains to hand… but you want to have a great time off-road.
