Summary of Reviews
We have read all expert and user reviews on the Küat HUK. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Published Jan 14, 2025 by Rachel Rushing.
7 reasons to buy
- The HUK comes in five versions: one half-size and four full-size of differing lengths, one of which is for curved tailgates.
- Owners and testers say bikes stay securely in place while driving.
- The pad is easy to install and remove, according to owners and experts.
- Reviewers praise the HUK’s soft inner liner, saying it protects vehicle paint from scratches.
- Testers appreciate the higher-end materials, such as the TPU shell and metal G-hooks.
- Küat provides a fitting guide to help buyers find the right size pad for their truck.
- Testers of up to six months say the HUK doesn’t show signs of wear.
4 reasons not to buy
- Reviewers say the flap for the tailgate latch and camera on full-length HUKs sits awkwardly when folded and gets in the way of the bike position above.
- The bike straps aren’t sewn into the pad, making them easier to misplace.
- As with most tailgate pads, the HUK lacks security features, so bikes shouldn’t be left unattended.
- The HUK is expensive for a tailgate pad.
Bottom line
Küat’s HUK is a tailgate pad that fits two, five, or six bikes. It comes in four lengths: 25”, 51”, 54”, and 61” for straight tailgates. The 61” HUK also comes in a version for curved tailgates. Küat’s fit guide helps simplify size selection. Short-term testers (up to six months) praise the HUK for its durability, easy installation, and protective soft inner lining. Mounted bikes remain secure, but the included straps may be too short for e-bikes with down tube-integrated batteries. Complaints are mostly minor. Though expensive for a tailgate pad, experts consider the Küat HUK worth the investment.Where to buy
