Top of the Morning Bike and Brake
Description
Pedal through time as we ride along the Illinois & Michigan Canal! An interpretive naturalist will share the origins of the water highway and its impact on Will County while guiding the group down the Gaylord Donnelley Trail to visit a former hot spot of industry.
Our starting point will be the plaza outside Lockport’s Gaylord Building. The ride is approximately 8 miles roundtrip along crushed limestone trails, with a few stops along the way. A water bottle and helmet are strongly encouraged. Please dress for the weather.
Bikes may be available for rent through the I&M Heritage Corridor bike share station, but availability is not guaranteed. https://iandmcanal.org/bike/.
