Each year, on the first Sunday in May, Bike New York welcomes 32,000 riders from every state in the nation and 65 countries around the world for an experience of the Big Apple unlike any other. The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is a chance for the global cycling community to come together to ride for a cause. 40 miles of NYC streets across each boro are completely closed to vehicular traffic, allowing cyclists to see the city from a new perspective. Beginning in lower Manhattan, the tour rides up to the Bronx, over to Queens, down to Brooklyn, and makes a spectacular crossing over the Verrazano Bridge to the finish festival in Staten Island. Proceeds from the tour help fund the work of Bike New York, a 501c3 organization providing bike education, advocacy, and programming to NYC communities. The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is the largest charitable bike ride in the world.
