Lost Loon Triathlon
The Lost Loon Triathlon is a fun, family-friendly event designed to get people of all ages active and outdoors. Our untimed triathlon encourages race teams to bike, canoe and trail run or walk at their own pace and preferred distance at Long Hunter State Park. Teams bike 9 miles on a paved road within the park, tandem canoe for 2 miles on a lake course and trail run or walk for 2 miles around Couchville Lake. Awards are based on enthusiasm versus speed. Costumes and team themes are optional but lots of fun. All proceeds benefit the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Association (TSRA) and river conservation projects.
Team fee of $85 is nonrefundable and includes canoe rental, 2 adult race shirts and a picnic lunch. Park limits 3 adults per canoe. Teams can bring their own boat if they have one. Teams must bring their own bikes and bike helmets. Fastened bike helmets required on the bike leg. Fastened life jackets required on the water. Strollers accepted on the trail run. Teams can divide up the sports like a relay or complete all three legs. Pre-registration required online in advance at www.lostloons.com. Race Start is 9:30 am central time. Event ends at Noon. Join the loonieness on Sept. 17 and follow us on Facebook @lostloontriathlon.
