Description
Get your bike ready and bring your adventurous spirit for an exciting day of cycling along the Carson River! The Carson City High Water Bike Tour is a family-friendly, two-hour event scheduled for Saturday, August 15th, 2026, from 9:00am-11:00am. The first 20 children to arrive will receive a backpack and helmet!
When: Saturday, August 15th, 2026. 9:00am-11:00am.
Where: Meet at the Morgan Mill Aquatic Trailhead (5199 Morgan Mill Rd., Carson City, NV 89701)
What: Participants will depart from Morgan Mill Aquatic Trailhead and travel to Carson River Park, stopping at educational stations focused on bicycle safety, flood awareness, river resources, water quality, preparedness, and outdoor stewardship.
Who: Free and fun for all ages! Kids under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Ages 16-17 attending without a parent/guardian must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian prior to the event.
What to Bring:
- A bicycle in good working condition and a properly fitted helmet.
- Water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, and weather-appropriate clothing.
- Closed-toe shoes suitable for bicycling and walking between stations.
- Any personal medications, allergy needs, or other essentials you may require during the event.
- A small bag or backpack for snacks, event materials, or giveaway items.
There are 3 distance options; if you have younger children, consider a shuttle plan:
- 1.9 miles – Morgan Mill to Riverview high water mark and back to Morgan Mill, then drive to Carson River Park.
- 3.3 miles – Morgan Mill to Carson River Park. Park a second vehicle at this location before proceeding to Morgan Mill trailhead.
- 6.6 miles – Morgan Mill to Carson River Park, then return to Morgan Mill.
