Dirty Fox 5-Bikers vs Runners-Five Hour Relay Trail Race
Hosted by UAW Local 2209 Getting Miles Athletic Club.
We did the math. Mountain Bike Riders ride the Franke Park trails twice as fast as Trail Runners run. In this five hour race, Mountain Bike Riders and Trail Runners will battle for trail supremacy on the technical dirt trails of Franke Park. Runners and riders will complete as many laps as they can in the five hour time limit. Riders will follow a five mile path on the west side of the park. Runners will follow a three mile path on the east side of the park.
Riders and Runners will share the timing mat and complete many full laps as they can in the five hour time limit. Although the routes will cross the same timing mat, the Rider and Runner laps will not intersect at any time during the race.
Event details and schedule
Trail runners will follow a three mile loop in the east side of Franke Park.
Riders will follow a five mile loop on the west side of the park.
Each team must have one participant with the chip timer on the trails at all times during the race. Participants will hand off the chip timer band to a team member in the Exchange Zone. All laps must be completed within the five hour time limit. Teams and solo participants will have the oppurtunity to setup a home base near the Exchange Zone.
Solo participants will follow the same routes as relay team participants. There will not be an aid station on the course. We will have food and drink will be available for participants near the Exchange Zone.
