Etape Loch Ness 2024 – 28 April 2024

The Etape Loch Ness is Scotland’s largest closed road cycle sportive taking place on 28 April 2024 around the stunning shores of iconic Loch Ness.

The 66-mile (106km) cycle sportive offers a fantastic challenge with unrivalled scenery, so whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a newcomer looking for your first sportive, don’t miss this awesome event.

In 2023, 6000 riders took part in this exciting event and general entry sold out in just 48 hours so register your interest NOW to receive priority entry.

Starting and finishing in the historic Highland capital of Inverness, riders can enjoy cycling a 360° route on fully closed roads alongside the loch taking in some of the country’s most stunning scenery.

There is a timed King of the Mountain stage with a 4.8-mile (7.72km) climb gaining 380m in height and reaching a gradient of 12% at times.

Many participants and their friends and families choose to stay on and explore the Scottish Highlands, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Highlands is steeped in history, home to castles, misty mountains and offers a range of activities from dolphin spotting boat trips to distillery visits, mountain biking to kayaking. Loch Ness is one of the world’s best known destinations, its breath-taking scenery and the centuries-old myth and mystery of ‘Nessie’ have attracted visitors for years.

Event details and schedule

All cyclists MUST attend registration to collect their rider pack on Saturday 27 April (10am – 7pm) at the Event Hub (Eden Court. Bishops Road, Inverness, IV3 5SA)

Remember to bring photo ID with you when you collect your rider pack and if someone is collecting on your behalf they also need photo ID and a signed letter from you authorising them to collect your pack.

Please note:

  • There is no registration on Sunday morning.
  • There are no event weekend entries.
  • All entry fees are non-refundable.
  • There is no deferment system.

Etape Loch Ness will start in the vicinity of Bught Park, Inverness.  Riders will be released from the start in waves of 260 participants at 2 minute intervals between 06:15 and 06:53
