BikeRide finds and shows you the best prices of the bikes you want to buy. Prices constantly change and it’s impossible to compare them all yourself.
We search for prices on over 120 bike retailers to guarantee that we find the lowest prices – to save you time and money.
It’s a promise we stand behind: If you find a lower price on a bike elsewhere, we will sell it to you for 10% less. For example, if you find a bike for $480 that we have listed at $500, we will offer you to buy it for $432 through BikeRide. The bike must be the same color and size, sold in the US and not include the use of a coupon.
If you find a lower price, email us at [email protected] with documentation of the price. We’re committed to making sure that the cost of a bike does not keep you from cycling!

Summary of Reviews
We have read all expert and user reviews on the Canyon Ultimate. In summary, this is what cyclists think.
13 reasons to buy
- The Ultimate has been ridden to two World Championships, eight World Tour wins, and innumerable podium finishes.
- Buyers can choose between two tiers of carbon (CFR, CF SLX) and three builds.
- Experts say the Ultimate manages to deliver accessible geometry and comfort while being a "competent all-around" race bike.
- The Ultimate’s low weight and stiff, responsive frame make it a superb climber.
- Experts applaud the Ultimate’s supple ride quality and comfort on long rides.
- Reviewers savor the acceleration and ability to maintain speed.
- The handling is nimble and responsive, without being skittish, instilling confidence on high-speed descents, according to testers.
- The lower-tier CF builds offer most of the CFR’s performance and handling at a substantial saving.
- A reviewer says the CFR frame manages to combine stiffness and smoothness with no compromises.
- The Ultimate has clearance for tires up to 33mm.
- The DT Swiss ARC 1100 (CFR) and 1400 (CF SLX 8 Di2) wheels have hooked rims, making tubeless setup easier and safer.
- At 6.85kg, the CFR is among the lightest road bikes available, and the 7.3kg CF is no heavier than competitors costing $1,000s more.
- This bike comes with a six-year warranty on all parts made by Canyon.
6 reasons not to buy
- Though most buyers appear overjoyed with their Ultimates, a significant number complain about poor build quality, broken bikes, and poor customer support.
- Owners report chainstays cracking and being damaged by the drivetrain.
- Owners struggle to get hold of Canyon’s proprietary components.
- Owners complain about the cost and complexity of trying to change stem length and seatpost setback to address fit problems.
- A tester returns their Ultimate after it arrives with scratches on the frame from a badly fitted chain.
- The CF SLX 8 AXS’s Zipp 404 Firecrest wheels are hookless, making tubeless setup more delicate.
Bottom line
Canyon’s Ultimate is an achingly attractive proposition, boasting one of the finest combinations of performance, handling, and comfort of any championship-level race bike, at substantially lower prices. The latest Ultimate is even more aero and has geometry that's more accessible to ‘normal’ cyclists. Alas, for those unlucky enough not to fit their Ultimates perfectly or needing to replace crash-damaged cockpits, Canyon’s proprietary components regularly experience shortages. Also, there are many complaints of frames cracking or being damaged by the drivetrain. If more experts conducted long-term testing of bikes they bought themselves, the scores might not be as high.Expert Reviews
