Summary of Reviews

We have read all expert and user reviews on the Cannondale SuperSix EVO Gen 5. In summary, this is what cyclists think. Updated Mar 22, 2026 by Reda Ashour.

13 reasons to buy

  • The SuperSix EVO Gen 5 is offered in eight builds, with two elite-level racing builds (LAB71).
  • Experts say the SuperSix EVO strikes an "appealing balance" between aerodynamics, low weight, and comfort.
  • The SuperSix EVO surges up climbs, according to reviewers of the various builds.
  • Testers say the power transfer is excellent.
  • This bike encourages aggressive riding with its low stack and aero position.
  • The nimble, intuitive handling through corners and on descents impresses testers.
  • Reviewers find the bike's handling predictable and stable at high speeds.
  • Experts praise the SuperSix EVO's sharp steering, which doesn't feel twitchy.
  • Reviewers enjoy the Cannondale SystemBar Road bar's ergonomics and narrow stock width (EVO LAB71, LAB71 SL, EVO 1, 1 SL).
  • Cannondale offers the bike in an above-average eight sizes.
  • The SuperSix EVO Gen 5 has a threaded bottom bracket, SRAM UDH, and clearance for 32mm tires.
  • Experts enjoy the grip provided by the Vittoria Corsa PRO tires (top four builds).
  • Testers highlight the efficiency of the deep-profile Reserve 57|64 carbon rims (LAB71, EVO 1).

7 reasons not to buy

  • Two testers think that, on the flats, the SuperSix EVO lacks the rapid feeling of a full aero bike.
  • Some reviewers find the aggressive riding position uncomfortable on long rides.
  • A tester recommends upgrading the Schwalbe One tires on the EVO 3, 4, and 5.
  • Testers feel the SuperSix EVO 2 should include a power meter, given its price.
  • The SuperSix EVO is heavier than equally priced race bikes.
  • Spacers cannot be fitted above the stem.
  • The deep-profile Reserve 57|64 rims (LAB71 and EVO 1) can be problematic in crosswinds.

Bottom line

Cannondale continues the long tradition of its heralded race-winning road bike with the fifth-generation SuperSix EVO, available in two tiers of carbon across eight builds. The new version is lighter with improved aerodynamics and more aggressive geo. Reviewers say it combines composure at high speeds, agility, and decent comfort for a race bike. Unsurprisingly, reviewers find that it performs well on climbs, descents, and the flat. However, most competitors are lighter, and many are cheaper. Nonetheless, the SuperSix EVO still impresses experts as an all-rounder race bike, maintaining its solid reputation.

On the other hand, if you’re looking to buy a new all-rounder race bike, it seems a great option on first impressions, provided it fits and you don’t mind spending a bit more to get ‘Cannondale’ on the down tube.

The New Cannondale SuperSix EVO Is Fast — but It’s Missing Something Crucial

It never once held me back, but that’s to be expected at this price point. It does everything really well. It just doesn’t do anything better than the competition.

2026 Cannondale SuperSix EVO Review – The Best Got Better?

The bike is neither super lightweight or super aero, but just enough of both to cater for those people who want one bike that can do everything really well and not be hobbled whether you’re climbing or going flat out fast.

New Cannondale SuperSix EVO 2026 on Review – Fine-Tuned for the Podium?

In 2026, the EVO still feels at home in almost any race scenario. It accelerates eagerly on climbs, remains impressively efficient on the flat and delivers exactly the blend of stability and agility you want on fast descents.

Flip, the Aero Bike Is Dead (New Cannondale SuperSix EVO 2026 Review)

It’s clear that Canondale have spent a lot of time thinking about aerodynamics. A lot of this bike versus the previous bike has been tuned to be more aero.

Cannondale SuperSix EVO Review: Is This the Ultimate All-Around Bike?

Then we have the weight, which is really well achieved considering the stiffness of the whole set and the responsiveness of the rear triangle. I really liked it because when you stand up, the bike just wants to go.

I Went to Girona to See How the New Cannondale SuperSix Rides, and I Didn’t Want to Get Off

Cannondale says the Gen 5 SuperSix improves on the previous version, which is generally regarded as a very well-rounded, solid race bike. I’d be inclined to agree with this after the first ride.

I Crashed Cannondale’s New SuperSix EVO on Ride One. It’s Still Among 2026’s Best Road Bikes.

The SuperSix EVO should be on the shortlist for anyone purchasing a new race bike. If you already own a Gen 4 EVO, the latest Evo might not rock your world. As implied in its name, it is an evolution…

Cannondale SuperSix EVO 2026 review: First ride on the SystemSix killer

It seems to have met the demands of pros without radically altering a successful template, which consequently should maintain its appeal among everyday riders. They will certainly appreciate its cleaner aesthetics, frozen pricing, and lower weight and drag.

Cannondale SuperSix EVO – First Test [German]

The latest generation is (as usual) lighter and slightly faster, and thanks to revised geometry, considerably sportier. A 10mm reduction in stack height now allows for very aggressive riding positions, and the handling has become a bit more agile.

The aerodynamic character is now more pronounced (finally in my opinion). Overall, the structure is well-balanced and less nervous than other “sisters” used at World Tour level, a quality that’s particularly appreciated on descents characterized by mixed and fast sections.
