Bottom line

At least one tester sees the Carbon Ronin as a versatile option to fulfill your road, cyclocross and gravel-biking duties, while also being worthy of short backpacking trips. This is a lightweight and precision machine, built with a handmade attention to detail. Handling, performance, shifting and componentry are all lauded. Accordingly, the entry-point price is quite high. While one tester says the Ronin Carbon feels “planted” and well-suited to longer rides, another found distance rides could be “fatiguing”. There are no mounts on the fork or for a rear rack, though there are top-tube bolts for a bento box. Builds start from a svelte 17.3 lb. Excelsior!

Alchemy Ronin

I believe the ideal candidate for this bike would be someone who has a bit of a competitive streak and likes to challenge themselves in events, but also has the desire to slap on framebags and lose themselves in a short bikepacking adventure. It’s perhaps the closest thing I’ve experienced to a quiver killer and would tempt me into trading out my road, cyclocross, and gravel touring bike for one Ronin Carbon.
