Burnsville Metric 2023

The 2023 Burnsville Metric is a fully supported fundraising ride benefitting Dig in Yancey and local EMS and Fire services. It will be held Saturday, April 29th, 2023 at 9:00 AM. This year we will be offering several routes ranging from 65 km up to 200 km. The Jacks Creek route, appx 65km. The Metric Route 100 km. The Double Metric Route 200 km.  All routes fully supported, with rest stops and SAG. All routes will start together in the Burnsville Town Square and will travel through the scenic Cane River and Toe River Valleys before returning to Burnsville for the finish, and after party at Homeplace Beer Company.  All entries will receive complimentary food and beverages at Homplace for the after party, with live music from 12:00-3:00 PM. 

Event details and schedule

Pre-event party and early packet pick up available Friday, April 28th from 5:00-9:00 PM at Birdfoot Bottle and Outdoor Shop, located at 10 Orchard Dr. Burnsville, NC.  ID Required for packet pick-up.

Day of packet pick up available at the Burnsville Town Center 6 S Main St, Burnsville, NC 28714, Saturday, April 29th from 7:00-8:40 AM. ID  Required for packet pick up.

Parking  The town square is much busier than in years past please do not park around the square or on Main st, to avoid disrupting local businesses and the farmers market.  Please use the lot at 133 North Main street beside the DMV ( this is the closest to the starting area ), the public lot at 225 W main st, infront of the Fil-More, The gravel lot at homeplace brewing 321 W main st.   Overflow parking can be found at 120 Resevoir rd in front of the Roses.   

Mandatory Pre-Ride meeting for all riders at 8:50 AM with the main ride starting at 9:00 AM.  All E-Bike categories will start appx 15 minutes later, for the safety of all participating.  

This event is happening on open roads, following all road and traffic laws is required.  

A helmet and rear light is required of all riders

Be prepared for any and all weather conditions. April in the mountains can be unpredictable.   

The Official After-Party will be held at Homeplace Beer Company and Hog Hollow Pizza,with complimentary food and beverages for all participants, with live music from 12:00-3:00 PM
