Charity Ride, Metric Century, Recreational

The Salvation Army- Somerset Service Center is planning its 18th annual River and Wind Challenge. Participants can choose between a Metric Century 62 mile or 22 mile bike ride on the Great Allegheny Passage in Pennsylvania. We have approximately 90-150 participants each year and growing. Meals, refreshment pit stops and entertainment at dinner at the end. Our participants consist of riders from Pittsburgh, Ohio, Maryland, New York and West Virginia as well as local cyclers. Recommended to use a hybrid, or mountain bike as it is a rail trail. The trail is nearly level, beautiful waterfalls, bridges, tunnels, a historical grave yard, Pennsylvania wild life. It is the most beautiful section of the Great Allegheny Passage that goes from Pittsburgh to DC.
