Historic Hotels Bike Ride

Pedal from Fort Bidwell over Cedarville Pass to the historic Hotel Niles in Alturas, CA. in one day. Modoc County is great for cyclists with no traffic, good roads, lots of history, fabulous scenery and the people are friendly and fun.
Start from the historic Fort Bidwell Hotel in the northwestern corner of California and bike south to Highway 299. Both a 100 and 150 kilometer ride start from the same place and cross Cedar Pass at 6,300 feet. After the descent along Parker Creek, riders turn south and meander through the scenic, rural Modoc country, passing by the Modoc Wildlife Refuge before finishing at the Niles Hotel in Alturas.
